So we all have to work, it helps us all fund our silver ball addiction. The question is do you love, loathe or like your job? So for me personally it's a like/love. I'm self employed in direct sales.
The good:
1) Working by myself
2) No early starts
3) Meeting some genuinely nice people
4) A lot of free time
5) It can pay very well
6) Not stuck in an office/factory
7) Yearly competition for a fully paid 3 day holiday break in Europe
8) Being on the road
The bad:
1) People cancelling on the door when you have driven X amount of miles
2) People not having an understanding of the quality you are selling, hence not having the budget
3) Some of the most ridiculous excuses for not buying
4) Bu%$hi$#ing you (I guess that's number 3 too)
5) Saying "I'll definitely ring you tomorrow" (I guess that's number 4 too)
6) No holiday pay
