JJP Harry Potter -Confirmed

I'm definitely on the fence on this one. I'm having flash backs of my GnR and it's OD on multiballs.

Mark Silk is a great guy, picked up my CV from him, many years ago and he really loves pinball, but when I heard the call outs it just sounds like Mark Silk playing as Mark Silk. I was hoping for a cast member.

Whilst the diverter is cool there isn't any other wow mech for me that makes me go I need this game.

As there's no limit on this game there's no FOMO for me. After loosing out too many times on selling a NIB to the used market I'll give it a pass until I try it for myself.

Hats off to JJP for thumping up for the license and getting all the assets I just personally think it could have done with some magnets and some subways to give it that magic factor.

I was under the impression Marc would be The Sorting Hat but after listening its really disappointing... It does just sound like Marc being Marc...

Surprises me he was involved considering he sued Warner Brothers last year I think over the unauthorised use of his voice as The Sorting Hat

Still one of the best looking games ever and I have serious FOMO

As I said when portal was shown I'm definitely Silk'd out. It's time pinball companies started giving other voice actors a chance.

Game looks great, the sound ( not just the voice acting ) I'm not so keen on.

Looking forward to playing it in a few weeks.

I think the main issue with JJP is that they don’t have enough different coding talents to be able to have a proper conversation about what makes a fun game. Really, you could put any theme on this and the general gameplay will be the same. They will make a ton and eventually these will be ten a penny. I watched this a few times thinking I missed something, but I simply can't find any atmosphere or moments in it. Every shot is a rainbow light show and the casino chimes and sounds remind me of a fruit machine. Style over substance once again I fear. Not for me.

Agree with everything you said but just to be pedantic it does have a magnet and a (short) subway!

Pinball Magic still has the best magic mech with that wand which carries the ball 😎

Just got these in the post from my brother, he’s not into pinball at all. I don’t think he knew about the machine being release. Must be a sign!

OK, if you pull a gross one, you don’t buy one. If you pull a nice one, you buy it!

Just listened to a podcast in which jack said a batch of CE s
will be first out then will dilute/scatter between Ce arcade and wizard
and distribute between all three models .
I thought the arcade was at back of line but apparently not

Love how in the US they are on location already! Its impressive

There's not much not to like on this machine, people are always going to pick it apart though.

But everyone said Harry Potter would never be made, but Jack did it... He told a group of us a dinner way before COVID he was deep into securing the lP and he never gave up.

And not only that secured all the assets

Jealous of everyone NIB on this...

It’s just opinions and really people can only comment on how it looks and you think it plays. No one on here has played one yet.

I just wished they had dropped the multiball heavy code and gone more mode based.

I had a Hobbit and in the end the multiball code (and the wide body) was the reason I sold it.

I cannot wait to play it and wished I was in a stronger position to get one. But like @huggers said above, I worry this will go the way of all other JJP games before it.

No game is perfect imo. Can criticise parts of it and still be a buyer or enjoy playing it.

Pins themes and game play are like marmite some love it some hate it.

Love the hobbit, love guns and roses.

All of our opinions are just opinions 😉

Harry Potter looks great, never been a big fan of the light bars down the side find it annoying, fortunately hobbit doesn't have one, neither did the standard guns.

Wondering if the arcade edition of potter has it ,🤷‍♂️

Never investigated where it can be turned off the light bar, I suppose you could just un plug it 🤭

I will seek out at a potter to play first before purchasing, but unless I don't like it, it's definitely my next and probably last game.

I think from reading all the recent comments, all it says is everyone is different and we all like different things from a game. We share a mutual love for pinball, but not all the same type of game, and its great that different manufacturers cater to different markets so everyone is happy. Personally i like a flashy light-show going on in a pin. Potter will be the 7th JJP machine I’ve bought so far and i’ve had zero regrets about the previous 6 and I already made up my mind last year that Potter was my next JJP. I think everything i’ve watched so far is amazing. Code seems very well progressed and as we all know, things in the pin world get better with new code and updates are inevitable. Thankfully jjp have never followed the chicago cactus canyon model of charging for an update and i hope they never will. That model of charging infuriates me!

I cant wait for mine to arrive. Opted for the Arcade version as it has what i need. Toppers like Labyrinth and Evil Dead are absolutely amazing. In contrast, Stern and JJP toppers do nothing for me.

My Potter will be available to play at the Ayrshire Scottish League meet next season. Shameless plug here i know, but new players are always welcome and the scenery up this way is amazing so well worth a random weekend away in Scotland. GTF and Merlins Arcade should hopefully arrive in time for the next event too. I’ll be at pinfest, so come say hi and plan your Scotland trip and i’ll share my food recommendations for when you’re up this way. Disclaimer: my food choices are less michelin star and more roll with square sausage and potato scone, but after a few beers, there’s nothing better than a roll with square sausage and potato (tattie) scone to sort out the hangover the next day 😂😎

Long story short, potter ticks all the boxes for me!

I was really excited for this but the rules just seem a mess. I will of course reserve judgement until I play one, but it looks exactly the same as every other JJP with too many multiballs and no integration between playfield and rules.
But the most egregious is the school mode - seriously? School? Is that not boring as ****?

Stop being negative……. 😂
BTW……. I heard there’s a sick bag in every coin box for anyone who listened to Eric Meuniers beautiful reminisce of collecting his Harry Potter book 🙄
