Wanted Fruit Machine - asking here before I go over to the 'darkside' of the Fruity Forums... or even the dreaded FaceBook!

I owned fruit machines before Pinball, so they're not a new thing to me, but I sold my JPM Big Bucks and Big Banker (both vogue cabinets) for about £60-70 each 5yrs ago and now I want another. Also sold my decent spares collection for a song!

It seems they've gone up in price a little bit (!) probably due to all the 'man-caves' that are springing up in everyone's back gardens, but the shock is slowly subsiding and strangely i'm still entertaining the idea of a purchase.

so, the ones i want, and I realise these aren't the easiest to find, are:

  1. JPM Big Bucks (£8 or £10 jp) - vogue cabinet
  2. JPM Big 50 (£10 jp) - vogue cabinet
  3. JPM Big Banker (£6 or £8 jp) - vogue cabinet
  4. *any* ASTRA bartops
  5. Astra Reel Stampede
  6. Astra Ready to Roll

Anyone know the best places to ask, or have one of these sitting at home they fancy selling on?

PM if so.

Regards,
Paul.

I used to have a JPM Big Banker (£6 JP), about 2005, sold it but can't remember who bought it or I would contact them.
Have two here for sale, Golden Giza (Red Gaming) and Reel Deal (Empire).

Thanks for the info - sadly the other manufacturers just don't interest me. There's something about that era of JPM - they had a mind of their own & plenty of layers to discover, just like a Pinball.

unfortunately those are the sort of fruits that have rocketed in price since the first lockdown. some JPM stuff is touching pinball money. (Even the program pcbs are fetching £100+) The trade body BACTA has brought in a self regulatory measure to stop under 18s having access to low jackpot (£5 10p play) reel based fruits so expect a LOT of those type to come on the market as resorts reopen. However these will be post 2000 machines most likely mpu5 and scorpion 4/5 . No use to you but will provide cheap games for man caves etc

I wish they’d done that 30yrs ago! Would’ve saved me a bloody fortune.

Also saw they’re making an issue of all the machines being bought and sold via Facebook, eBay, etc. They did that before a few years ago (5-10yrs maybe?) - it was imposssible to list a fruity on eBay for a while, but now it seems out of control. I’m not sure how anything sub £10jp can be included in that statement though, it’s not like people site them anymore (Mr P’s arcades being the exception).

Do you think my hit-list will come back down again, or even a little bit? I hesitated on a Big50 last week - price was very high, but it was snapped up under my nose!

Oy! I'm first in the queue!! :D
You are welcome to the £15jp version!

...It makes my skin crawl just thinking about it...

to be honest though, it's a reasonable attempt at updating Big Bucks for the electra cab era, and having the hopper helps reliability, but it's not in the same league.

Only Vogue I have left is casino crazy and not yet got that working as been too busy on other things. Ceasars palace in Weston super mare have a good selection of vogue's and other classic games I went down last September. Also Palm amusements in Oswestry (Shropshire) have alot of the classics. Prices have gone crazy, Sold my MPS big banker (1986) on10p/£4 tokens for £300 with a tatty cabinet only a couple years ago and thought id done well but wish id kept it for today's market

I too had a few fruities..
Started off with a Minty Payton Flying Circus £15 jackpot- stuck it in a friends rented flat, loads of parties made a fortune so bought the next Monty - Holy Grail £25 jackpot. Same friends flat.. then another machine Money Mad Martians - lost count of how much I made, must have gone into the £1000’s

Moved them all out to my flat when I got my first place. I then bought my first pinball... but people started to get used to the fruit machine and their modes. Got shot before they broke me.. ahhh the memories

Got a lead on a Big Bucks and added PowerSpin to the want list. Seems people are sitting on these hoards of things (not literally).

Well i've since learnt that someone was offered my top wanted choice for £20, but didn't take it, so a pucker JPM Big Bucks got tipped a week or 2 ago... **** MY LIFE.

So I'm still looking.

Have bought a JPM Red Arrow just to scratch the itch. £25jp, but have sourced £15 decals too (lower jackpot the better in my view)..

I have owned both of those Paul, how are the glasses on the sonic? Any I have seen inc the one I had were peeling terrible!

Pretty much perfect, just a 2-3mm scratch on the 3rd nudge (from the inside where it’s exposed). I was really lucky with it, just the button bar needs a respray. Was in a heated home bar for 20yrs. I offered it up for trade + cash for a Big50…. no takers yet!

do you still have your sonic fruit machine love to own one
Yes, still got it! It’s really immaculate. As Ronnie says above, it’s an incredibly collectible game.

I REALLY want a JPM Big50 machine, so if I can find that then Sonic will definitely go up for sale.

Also got an Indiana Jones on the way from Scotland and a Ready to Roll (Astra) fixer-upper. Martin‘s on the case…

Totally agree 30 years too late. Now when I look back I played Fruit Machines more than Pinball. I could have bought an Adams Family then for what I spent in them.
I loved JPM too. However, I just emulate now and I am still looking for the one ROM I think it was Barcrest called Sidewinder do you remember that at all takes me back to my youth :)
