Why does everyone with a non working machine say "it must be a fuse"..... i mean - ffs - If a fuse has gone then something must have caused it... not just the fuse giving up as it felt like it!!!

And it's always 'probably' the fuse. That way if it isn't then they can't be accused of lying as they didn't say it was DEFINATELY the fuse.

It means I haven't an effing clue what's wrong with and I'm to tight to spend any more money on it to get it repaired or
I certainly know what's wrong with it and it's going to cost 200 quid to repair it, but I'm still too tight to spend that on it
before I sell it taa daa:-)

More like it

Can't be broken, it's still strapped up. Must be lost then...

Apparently it lost it's way to another owner... thanks to the wonders of offers by email. (it's worded a little differently by the seller on the yahoo group). ;)

what do you guys think this is worth? (A13)

Its my all time pin to be honest.

Its the same one that was for sale a while ago down south. Its a bit of a dog but a good project.

Apollo 13 Sega Pinball machine | eBay

Seeing that you could be looking at £200+ for a new CPU board I'd say its reached/passed the price ceiling I would consider

The seller wants 1000 for it?? seems pretty high to me.

I have noticed that the seller left neg for this machine:

Machine had many faults, was described as fully working,do not trust this sellerSeller:

Buyer paid outside of EBay for less money than bid. Case was opened & they lost!

Are they worth much in good order?

Funny thing is the seller bought this for £850 and then paid less upon collection but is now looking to profit on a broken machine?
Greedy bugger lol

Don't want to put a damper on things, but think it is actually illegal to create a ring to artificially keep auction price down.

It is certainly immoral, the only fair price for any object is what a willing buyer is prepared to pay a willing seller.

Think Administrators need to investigate this, I did a quick check on Wikipedia and can confirm IT IS ILLEGAL in the UK.

What are you talking about??? This is a thread to discuss pinball related Ebay listings. There is nothing dodgy going on here!

I don't think discussing pricing is in any way illegal.

Shill bidding, on the other hand, definately is illegal and can carry a fine of up to £5k. Doesn't seem to stop people doing it though and eBay don't seem to do much to address it.

Huh ?? Apologies if I am misreading this but are you suggesting members on here are 'creating a ring to artificially keep auction price down' ....however that might work (?)

Someone asked opinion on price of a pinball machine and it was discussed ....how can that possibly be illegal ?? Unlike the blatant shilling and mis-selling of goods that goes on each and every day on good old ebay

This wouldn't be because you have just listed your Silverball Mania on ebay would it ? The one you were given a fair evaluation of the price of on UKPinball Yahoo group, which clearly wasn't as high as you had hoped, despite coming from pinball collectors who have many many years of buying and selling machines.

Good luck with the sale.

Looking back at this thread, I think @Grahambute is referring to the 1st ever post in this thread! If so, you are taking it far too seriously. As you can see, by post 4 @GrizZ declared he was bidding on "everything ever" so it was just a bit of fun!

Nothing to worry about going on here. Just some like minded people chilling out.

Are you pinball paradise in disguise?

Yep - I still bid on everything, but nobody plays fair so I don't win them all

Since when does Wikipedia set the laws?

This thread is about offering advice to potential bidders. What is more immoral is the way sellers attempt to hide the truth in their listings or massively overprice listings in an attempt to snare bidders who are less knowledgeable about current prices/values. If a seller is inaccurately describing an item, or if it is overpriced then bidders should be made aware of this. We can only advise, the bidder will still make his/her own decision how much to bid, nobody is forced to follow the advice.

LMAO. We are a ring now? I cant even think of any way we could all come together to bring prices down, except not bidding or buying on any pinball auctions and we all know that's NEVER going to happen. This is simply a place to inform others of ebay auctions, the activity therein, and to alert others of possible shill bids and sellers.

On another note, here are some completed auction results from the last two weeks(ish). Several machines have been omitted from this list due to shill activity but that of course doesn't mean these results are kosher either.
