He isn't shilling. Turn off the automatic bids, and you'll see he was outbid at 23:23 last night and then it took him 3 guesses to get back to being top bidder. Looks perfectly normal to me. And before any accusations I am nothing to do with this auction and I can't even afford an EM at the mo! (Plus I hate soccer so that rules me out!)
 
I don't think shill bidding is that commonplace, it's just the same few sellers that are it making everyone suspicious. The fact is you can't get a good price on ebay auctions anymore, too many people are on the lookout. If a good buy it now price comes on, you have to be quick, or if the seller agrees to sell outside of ebay you might get a decent deal. I never used to do this, but you have to nowadays otherwise you lose out to someone else who does. I bet nearly every machine that is listed has at least 1 bidder asking to end the auction early.
 
A reasonable looking Addams Family came up and swiftly went today. 3 day auction, South of Scotland, lasted half a day. Anyone on here get it? I was tempted to ask... But need to learn patience... One day a good TAF will be mine.
 
Yeah, the early-modern Sterns are definitely not so popular, and you often see Stryker Xtreme, High Roller Casino, etc go for under £1k, even now. I actually quite liked HRC though, if it wasn't for the balls keep stacking up in the shooter lane!

"Tales From The Crypt - For Spares or Repair.
The table is NOT working. It has many bulbs missing, rubbers etc. The table did work when I purchased it, but in German? I plugged it back in approx. 6 months ago and the transformer started to smell of electrical burning. Since then I have robbed bulbs etc for another table. Some of the fuse holders have broken on the PPB-1 board and need replacing. There may be the odd bracket/coil missing I just haven't got time to check. There is very little playfield wear and the cabinet is in very good condition.
It's a big project for someone with lots of time. When purchased it had the front door missing, there is a door/mech inside the table but again I don't know if it works or is even compatible. There are also various spares which I will include. "

Well at least he's honest. At least I hope thats honesty and not an over the top optimistic representation of the quality like you usually get on eBay... Not sure it'd get £850 if it was fully working though. Still its better than the £995 he was asking on his earlier listing.
 
Is anyone really going to pay more for one with a playfield overlay than for a remake? Now, to a certain extent I understand people wanting the original but really can't see that one going for the money they want.
 
That TFFC was the one i went to look at. Conveniently the cord had been cut and he couldn't power it up for us. There was a fair bit of acid damage on the CPU board and amazingly he managed to get it running after we had left. When we asked to view again to see it running he got a bit flustered and asked us to make an offer. Given the amount of work needed and no guarantee it didn't need major work doing on the boards or DMD we made an offer which he declined. He really doesn't want to drop the price and kept telling us about all the people he has had offers from but he won't sell it without people viewing first.

He definately didn't seem keen on us viewing again. Have to say that the playfield was in pretty good nick and most the bits were there, but it needed all putting back together again. Things like the coin door had been stripped, as had the launch mechanism. Did have the original door knocker launcher though.

Funnily enough he pulled it from sale a few weeks back and now its relisted due to someone not collection. Theres a suprise eh?

Bit confusing because he told us he used to work on Pinballs for a profession but he seems very vague when you talk to him. Hes either an ex operator with limited knowedge or he is deliberately playing it dumb in my opinion.
