So the doctors been in the house for a while now albeit Tombstoned while I found some space, but now TFTC has gone to its new home its a good time as any to get it ready for NERG 23.
The intention here is a simple clean up to get it looking presentable and at the same time add a full set of my protectors to bling it up a little. The more important task here is making sure it can hold up to the weekend and it plays trouble free.
First job was to strip the PF and chuck all the rubbers, bulbs and all of the starposts which the majority were damaged or just beyond redemption. It also turns out that almost every nut, bolt and screw I’ve removed are inflicted with the dreaded white rust so unless any of them are unobtanium they will all be replaced from my spares store or bought new.

I haven’t yet decided if I will be doing rebuilds on pops and flippers until I get it back playable and fully stress tested by spending a few hours actually playing it.

Day1
Strip and quick once over with @philpalmer ’s good old foam cleaner which always works a treat.

Off to a great start but will be at least a few days before I can fit in a little Novus Workout for those deep down stubborn stains.

Mighty dirty.
It’s how I bought it Darren. Everything had been addressed board side and the game does work fully which is 90% of the battle over.
Now it’s down to bit I love doing giving it a little TLC and looking fresh.

I can remember buying ex operated machines that were so black you could not see the playfield. Such a enjoyable process getting them cleaned up and most had never been cleaned before in there entire life, meaning that the dirt acted like a protector and once removed the playfield was like new underneath.

I had this machine and got boards going. @Jagspete had it before me snd someone else before him.

I let @Colywobbles have it as he really wanted one (I had no idea!). Personally I’d of kept it and done it up but I felt he was a more deserving owner.

Really watching this thread and can not wait to see it finished.

Go Col!!!!!!

Work didn't buy the Bally branded System 11 games, otherwise I'd have seen that software writer 'Pfutz' has his name included in the artwork around the bumper area. Like the badge worn by the 'Pitmaster' on Rollergames, "I (heart) TJE" , Timothy J Elliott.

Not a lot done this week as been a little crazy busy but managed to spin the Playfield around to give the VUKs a once over.
I also checked how these funky pops come off as I’ve never seen them before should I decide to rework them.
Although Big Shot works fine his metal bracket was full of the dreaded white rust so removed to test how my Evaporust/polisher combo handled it.

I also checked how these funky pops come off as I’ve never seen them before should I decide to rework them.

They're a further development of the Bally design which debuted with Eight Ball Deluxe (I think). Mr Cahill, who held tech seminars for technicians, mentioned that a design team working on a Bally game were allowed Bally components like this, but those working up a Williams game weren't.

Not a lot done but just couldn’t help myself after lifting out one of those funky pops out to give them a little once over.
The skirts were fine but I’ve had a big bag of the things sitting in the spares mountain so decided to bling em up Coly style.
