Complete Bally Medusa - Playfield Cleanup

I took some pics of Dawn's while I was there of the switch construction but not the wiring, I am such a blonde sometimes....

@Courtney Blush

I think I still have a set of the correct translucent target plastics for th targets behind the Olympus Drops.
I got three sets. I included one when I sold my Medusa (the one Scott now has) and I sold another set. I believe I sold them for £10 incl postage.
PM me if interested.

Just a few rubbers missing and a couple of switches that were working but now are not. Still got to wire the left flipper illumination up too.

The only problem I have are the red posts. Some are taller than others and I didn't notice that when I stripped it. I wonder where the tall ones go??

Let me know what rubbers are missing and I'll send them to you. Kits are based on the manual which are not always 100%. Any feedback is noted and kits adjusted for future.

Cheers Andy

Upper flippers, they are the old style which use a white ring but don't know what size. The main flipper ones should be yellow, not red and the really tiny ones for the slim metal posts, 12 of those and 1 x 1.5" and that all that's missing from Medusa, not started on Centaur yet but will let you know those too when I do it..

If you notice there are two rubbers, one each side of the spinner that are not listed also. 2 x 1.5" I borrowed these from the Centaur set.

@Courtney Blush Hi, not quite sure which tall posts your referring to , if you could clarify or perhaps post a pic I'll show you what I have on mine. Best, John

Hi Courtney, I’ve just been down and taken some plastics off to have a look. TBH I hadn’t remembered this from when I cleaned my playfield a few weeks ago so I had to take a closer look.
It is not completely consistent but in most cases the taller posts go under the holes in the plastics and a threaded bolt comes up through them and the hole to be fixed with a plastic nut.
The exception to this seems to be on the plastics just above the pop bumpers where none of mine seem to be tall posts, even those under the holes and fixed with a nut.
The pictures may help but to take the plastics one at a time:
Both posts under the holes in the slingshot plastics are tall.
Top right plastic…only one post just under the word WHEN is tall
Middle right plastic, numbering the posts from top to bottom, numbers 1,3 and 6 are tall.
Middle left plastic, from the top, number 1 and 4 are tall.
Top left, I think the posts under the holes in the plastics are tall (forgot to number these).
Of course no guarantee these are correct all I can say is they work and it’s how the machine came to me!
If you want me to check anything else please let me know. Pictures follow. Best wishes, John

Here we go again. Had to replace the Solenoid Expander board as it wasn't firing properly. Also @Andrew Stockdale sent me a set of coloured standup targets for the top of the playfield. Thank you :-D

So jobs left to do.??

Wire up the switch for the left flipper lamp. Adjust the legs as its sitting almost flat at the moment. Change 3 feature lamp transistors and then get the back glass for her.

Play wise, every switch and solenoid works however the two switches either side need cleaning/adjusting as they don't register the ball going under and even in the diags they only register if you lift the gates literally all the way.

Some pics of the targets fitted with all rubbers and plastics now fitted.

Thank you all for following this thread. Not long to go now until playable.
