Excuse my ignorance, probably my age, but is Godzilla really a big deal for the UK market. When I think of Godzilla I just think of crap stop motion animation, the Godzilla and Godzooky cartoon and a couple of so-so films. I know there's a cult following and Forbidden planet customers lap it up, but it does appear niche. I know pinball theming is very subjective and being an Elwyn game this will no doubt be amazing but it's something that just passed me by.

Nah your totally right, it's very niche here. Certainly the Toho stuff. Obviously the big dumb American films are mainstream but I'm not sure anyone really likes them

I am with you the theam is not great to a uk audience I don’t think it’s going to be a great seller over here straight away the 1000 le makes it not as desirable as a collector thing the price increase will also be a factor
The positive thing about it’s an elwin game we will have to see what it’s got to offer on Tuesday and see what everyone makes of it

I hope the Pro/Premium/LE are represented by different Kaiju. If there's a King Ghidorah LE or something it'll be amazing. I want Godzilla nuclear breath RGB LEDs across the playfield Smaug style too.

You could have just made up those words and I would still have the same idea what you were talking about.

Ha. Yeah I mean I'm a relatively big Godzilla fan, not to the level of some people but I have kinda loved the franchise over the years. It's very diverse. The original is a film about Japan's very justified fear of nuclear bombs and the fallout from them. Later Godzilla became a hero, the films shift all over the place in tone. It's just a really fun franchise and a guy in a suit stamping on buildings made out of cardboard boxes just appeals to me. There's an extremely smart and enjoyable modern Godzilla film called Shin Godzilla. It's made by the guy who made Neon Genesis Evangelion and is just brilliant.

I think I'm going to be unavoidably tempted by this. I only just got Jurassic Park back though so it's tricky. Guess I'll see how the reveal is.

As a 50 year old I have I don’t remember anything about Godzilla other than a **** poor cartoon I used to watch as a kid when I think they use a radio or something and he used to rise from the sea and them some little stupid thing called godzikie I think that couldn’t do anything

Lol I liked that cartoon (as a kid anyway)

I can only speak for myself but I know nothing about the theme at all aside from the fact that it's a giant lizard. I really don't know if there's any correlation between between the recent films and that old stop-animation model series. I was going to ask on Pinside but some poor lad got shot down in flames by the Godzillian Peoples Front for daring to suggest that the recent film might make for better graphics.

I think the new and the old films look equally bad but I'm in anyway. It's designed by Elwin and drawn by Bigfoot and if that's the combination then the theme could be Strictly Come Dancing or Downton Abbey and I'd still get it.

Did they use Viagra back then as that tail looks really stiff?
Its a blinding move. No come back from that one
The foe was being held though....

Zombie Yeti is a good choice. Hopefully its a darker feel to Gozilla.

Good point about a darker feel, now that would be a good move!!!

Godzilla is the only reason I didn’t go in on an Ultraman.
I do love my R&M and think Spooky are very good value for money and also transparent with their customers more so than any other manufacturer.
However Stern have it nailed with quality! Also their tables generally flow a lot nicer and I love their snappy flippers for want if a better description.
Oh and it’s Godzilla how can anyone not like a huge rampaging monster

I’m dreading this! I know it’s gonna be best Elwin to date with a decent size BOM and necessary drop targets not the crappy cost cutting tin signs.
Kanada been hyping the hell out of it as best yeti art yet on the LE and super world under glass with Great Animation package.
Boy I hope he wrong.

Kanada streamed the trailer it looks amazing bridge falls apart building lift AKA Dr who and some crazy use of magnet.
