Easter greetings troops .
Well here it is …the last Slam anniversary worth marking for a while . The 10 Year anniversary of the 4th and final edition back in Easter 2014
I think it’s fair to say it was our biggest and best one - we threw everything at it including a tricked out BTTF DeLorean parked out the front - a few lucky folks got a ride in it .
We crammed in a crazy 146 machines - 86 pinballs and 60 classic arcade cabs Seriously couldn’t have fitted anymore in . The visitor numbers were highest ever and we def felt we had reached the limits for that venue .
The World Famous SCS raffle in 2014 returned - first prizes being a lovely Williams IJ pinball and an Atari IJ cab
With proceeds from raffle, the numerous tourneys and visitor numbers we raised the most we had ever done for charity !
We even got a slot on BBC South - took along the IJ pin
Great memories . It turned out to be the final Slam , it was almost like we knew it could be so went out on a high …. ‘better to burn out than to fade away ‘ as Mr Neil Young said.
It was a great few years of shows , feels like a different world now , glad we did it when we had the energy and enthusiasm
Long live the Slam
