It's time for the annual audit again! another year flown by. Ninth time I've done this!!

How many machines did you buy and sell this year? did you get to many events?

If you want to compare with your previous years activity here are the links.... 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015

Another quietish year for me machine change wise...

In - 2
Foo Fighters Premium
Scooby Doo CE

Out - 2
GNR LE
Tron pro ( the one at PBR now )

Too many events to list individually but including many at PBR, Electric Circus, Tilt, Medway, The Pinball Office, Special When Lit, Skillshot, Domino Arcade, UK Open & Pinfest. Oh and our boozy few days in Krakow of course! ( Roll on Rotterdam in March! )

I've really enjoyed attending all the comps I've been to this year, getting to know more and more people each time and the socialising that goes along with it. Losing Electric Circus was very sad, the comps there were always good fun and the curry nights topped it off.
Living in South Wales it was always a trek to the nearest pinball club but luckily this year Skillshot opened in Pontyclun, just 25 miles from me so big thanks to @nikfury and Emma for that, it's sure to grow into something special.

Thanks to all who run the events, it must be quite stressful at times but is much appreciated.

Huge thanks as always to @Paul and his moderators for keeping this place going, I'm sure I spend more time on here than actually playing pinball :D

Happy New Year all !!

Got the garage conversion done so I now have my pins inside the house proper :D

Started the year with zero pins which was tough, but made up for it:

Can't do a massive number of events due to family commitments but still managed a few. Favourite event was definitely Swavesey - close to me and super chilled out :) Also enjoyed Pinfest with the family for a few hours, as well as quite a few evenings drinking beer, chatting and playing with other pinheads in the area. Last but not least I won the Ming wooden spoon at Pinhaus!! 😎

Happy new year ye nutjobs 😉🥳

Going back a year, I wrote this…..

“Start of 2023 - I have no room. There is literally no room left! I can't get anymore in! Plus there is no money.”

Ordered Pulp Fiction

Bought Tron. I already have Tron. Why did I buy another? I don’t play the one I already have!(on loan at Chris’ house)

Bought Super Hoops. WILL YOU LISTEN TO YOURSELF!! THERE IS NO ROOM!!!! (Currently tombstoned in the garage with the show machines)

Bought Escape from the lost world. WILL YOU GIVE YOUR HEAD A SHAKE!!!!! (Currently with Ant awaiting restoration)

Out - None…….

Attended NERG, Krakow and UKPinfest. Still haven’t visited Take the Plunge.

2024 - Not buying any machines. Honest! Hopefully Pulp Fiction will arrive by the end of the year.

Events - NERG, Rotterdam, UKPinfest and hopefully Take The Plunge. Maybe even Chicago.

In & out (and shake it all about):

El Pinbotto
Creech

Other stuff:

I managed to sand down/strip the cab of our Alien Poker and ordered lots of parts (inc. a playfield), although I haven't got that far with the restoration yet for various reasons.

Events:

@MadMonzer and I had lots of fun attending UKPinfest (for a day), the UK Open and Thursday night league at PBR (until we got too tired and sick with kid bugs after our youngest started full-time nursery in September).

We hosted a London & SE League event in August - our first 🥳

Lots of trips to the Pinball Office, PBR and Funland throughout the year too, as well as other pinball locations (Chief Coffee, Brewdog Shepherd's Bush, Joystick Arcade Bar in Prague, etc.), plus a bitter-sweet visit to Electric Circus before it closed 💔

No events for me.

Plans for 2024
IMDN is sale pending and wrapped up ready for pick up, so that's definitely leaving in 2024. Other than that I'm not sure, 2-3 spaces but nothing on order and no solid plans to fill them. I'm trying to decide if I want to keep more of a static collection and only add games that I think will stay a long time or continue to rotate pins in and out more frequently. I'd actually have any of the games I've sold back, so I have to ask myself if I should have just kept the first 5-6 and saved some money as I've 'lost' money on every machine but I do enjoy having something new to play and consider that 'lost' money as more paid to play/ cost of having a hobby. Guess we'll see at next years review which direction I go!

2023 is my second full year in the Pinball hobby .

Out

Revenge From Mars
Time Machine

Both machines moved on in the April, to bring in funds which go towards a TNA.

In

TNA
Guardians Of The Galaxy

TNA arrived in the June, finally have my dream machine.

GOTG arrived in early/mid this month. A machine I picked up mainly to enjoy over the dark winter months and one to enjoy over the holiday season. It's an awesome fun game but I have barely played it as I did my back in and have excruciating sciatica, xmas was ruined, and now also going to have to cancel a cruise holiday next week now.

Events wise I attended the Scottish League Meets, when I could. Had really great fun weekends at NERG and Pinfest. The highlights over the year was meeting some great people from the community and made to feel welcome on here. I plan to continue to attend the league meets, NERG and Pinfest in 2024. Pin wise GOTG will go at some pint for something else next year, but the focus currently is getting this blasted back injury sorted out.

Cheers

First year in the hobby. IN - Royal Guard (GTB EM).

Have enjoyed playing a range of machines around Bristol, a couple of visits to SWL and a whole load of updating Pinball Map to try to make it easier for others new to the hobby.

Next year I hope to continue to learn and play even more machines, maybe enter a tournament or two once it wouldn’t just be totally embarrassing. Might be in the market for a GZ Prem later in the year but have to renovate a house first!

2023 has been a quiet year on the in/out front as my “collection “ of three hasn’t changed.
1st time to Pinfest and loved it. Hotel booked for 2024.
Hopefully a pinball addition in 2024 but a bit wary of the market at the mo.

Happy New Year everyone 🎉

Nothing in or out this year, just go to Level these days for local machine play.

Did the Northern League rounds as usual, decent finish but not my best effort. 4th in league finals though was great and unexpected, especially with the super tight tie breaker it went down to.
Not much other than Pinfest (amazing once again), a couple of events at Electric Circus and the Halloween double header at @PUP, taking the win on day 2 was pretty sweet too! 🤣
Didn't do the UK Open this year, not a fan of the format so its not for me. Fair enough if others like it.
Spamalot at @AlanJ was really fun too 😁

Hoping to get to more events in 2024, especially as there's no major uncertainty over operation dates to endure this time around.

Witnessing the rise of the Peoples Champion, Gareth Arnold was a highlight too. Gareth, Gareth, Gareth!

Happy new year all✌
