Would have been interested in this but the cabinet wood looks quite badly damaged in a few areas. It'll need a lot of work to get this game in fit shape.

I would agree with you on parting it out. Lots of kit in there to make money.
 
I agree that it is a shame to part it out. But the problem with lesser titles in this condition is that you would lose money if you do them up and ever sell them. I know that some folk will say that they do not do it for the money. But that is irrelevant in this context, you need to think of what you can buy tidy, working games for.

There is a single seller on eBay right now that really illustrates this point. I do not know the seller but three wpc era games he is selling are claimed to be workers and superficially look reasonably tidy. You could argue that he is selling an A, a B, and a C list title.....

A List: Monster Bash - currently bid up to £5,100
B List: Creech - sold for £3,100​
C List: Fish Tales - sold for £1,750

Virtually no-one in their right mind would part out a tatty Monster Bash.

Very few people would part out a tatty Creech.

But rightly or wrongly, stuff like a tatty WCS or a tatty FT are very much in the killing zone. And I say that as a fan of both WCS and FT.
 
I would be all over this game - but @DRD is right, I can't personally pump money into something that isn't going to be there at the end, it isn't about the profit, but as a hobby, you want to be able to put £X into a game, and have reasonably £X left at the end, to upgrade or change title. For me, I want to be swapping and adding cash up to A titles, or adding to my current C list.

Sometimes, it seems, that parting out is the only way to go.

Is anyone interested in the cabinet? Note the backbox has water damage. Anyone interested in the coin door or WPC transformer?

I'm shopping a WCS I recently got on Ebay and it's coming on nicely. I'll have a few spare parts such as plastics (aged and yellowed but not many broken) and a few things I ended up with a couple of. Once I have finished I'll come up with a list of bits, not using the OPs thunder :) I'll also be throwing quite a bit of it!

Shopping wise, cleaned and touched up, new rubbers, 95% new plastics, 3 new ramps (one was knackered), new leds, led-ocd, chrome trim, colordmd, pdi glass and other bits. I've probably spent as much as I paid for it in the first place, but I aim to keep it around the office as we do soccer game apps. If I ever come to sell it it'll be for a bit more than a players one, but it'll look the biz.
 
Maybe after the diverter assy as mine is playing up. I know it’s just a coil and two springs :)

The diverter itself and rod are fine, mainly after the plunger & springs near the coil.

I think you can buy them. When i had wcs my diverter was a bitch. Had to replace those bits. It has to be the correct spring too.
 
Yeah you can, am looking into that now and where the best is to get it from, seems there are historic niggles with it. Mine was working ok but gave an error a couple of days ago.

Btw I am sometimes getting GOAL awarded up the diverter ramp, but the switch tests ok. I'm going troubleshoot the switch matrix and see whats going on.

I played one of these today and it was surprisingly fun. I have little interest in football though so not interested. Hope you find a buyer though, its a nice machine.
 
I picked one up for a reasonable price and refurbed it more or less. It came out really nice and I like football but enjoy it as a game too.
 
This is a naff sort of request but could I get the backbox latch of it - assuming the cabinet itself isn't in a landfill somewhere by now?
