Good luck :D I've been after a Solar Fire at a reasonable price for a long time and I know @JMP has been looking for a Bounty Hunter for even longer. They are out there but I suspect you'll be paying over the odds to get one. Meteor should be easier to get but I haven't seen one of those for a while either.

My theory is that all the papa live streams etc have made the older classics much more popular as they help develop basic pinball skills.

Also short ball times mean multi-player games are fun and don't go on forever.

Classic Sterns in the USA have really taken off in last few years.

There are a fair few Meteors over here but even they hardly come up for sale these days.

Hope you find one of these!

Both these games really hurt me at pinburgh and want to master them as best as I can. If I have to ring from the US then I will :)

If you manage to find a decent Solar Fire then I'd like to call dibs as I'd definitely be interested in taking it off your hands when you're done with it

Ok I’m talking to a couple of folks but they are not perfect transactions I have one in the US ready to be palleted also so that might be the route I end up going down.

You might have better luck in Germany - for some reason they have a lot of good condition classic SS games.

Yeah if someone makes the deal easy then cool.

This type of game just takes lots of hunting but they are worth the wait.

Just look at a guy in Belgium's collection - I did not realize how good these early games are.

24 games listed in g94's collection.

Upper pf on Pete’s Solar Fire has significant wear down to the wood when I last spoke to him about it.

Aside from Pete, Andy Heighway was the only other Solar Fire owner that I know of...

Oh and there also the one that got taken abroad when Lee emigrated...

Never seen a bounty hunter in the UK but have played it in France.

Yeah talking to Pete now but I think the solar fire has wood issues pete wants to flog 4 games as a package which I’ll do if the solar fire is decent - if not then not worth it.

Yeah Pete is near me.I know the did glass and plastics did the do pf too

Yep, Bounty Hunter has been on the radar for years and I've asked most listed owners in Europe but none want to sell..... only ever see them come up in US so yes, that's your best bet @Neil McRae I reckon. Like Chris, calling dibs if you manage to get a decent one and get bored of it ! ;)

Early 80s games are the dogs and make up 90% of my collection. As with most solar fire's mine is pretty warn. Took me a good while to find one.

Don’t confuse want with them being good! They are interesting for a few games then pretty boring. I just want to practise on this style of game.

Get Bounty Hunter and SF off your list then mate, and just buy similar , more easily available games, and save £££s

Meteor on paper should be the easier one to find. surprised if Jamie (ballywilliamssuck) (facebook coinopking) doesnt have one lurking about

Neil, if the only.reason you're buying is to practice classics you're better off getting more commonly available ones as they're more likely.to come up in comps. Given how rare Bounty Hunter and Solar Fire are, you might master them but never come across them again outside of your collection. So much better buiyng cheaper more readily available machines to.practice general skills on.

It’s a fair point - if I can’t find them reasonably enough then I might consider this.
