I've been involved in the UK scene for over 10 years now, but I know a lot of folks here still make me feel like a complete newbie! Let's see some of those old photos and videos, and maybe have a rule that they have to be from 10 years ago or older (so that I can slowly participate as time ticks by :p)

These are some of my oldest videos.

Daventry 2012, where Andy Heighway was showing off his new prototype game

NLP show in 2012

2001 when I moved into my current house, Xenon, Dr Who and Vector on the left next to Defender😎 My oldest photo.
Had to fill the garage with something☺️ Terrible pic though.

Not a photo, but the results from my first ever league meeting attendance having found out about it from a FB search and being invited to come along by both @mufcmufc & @Kate Rothwell-Jackson , despite it being held at @Telboy 's

Memories from the day include:
The fact that I chose to go to the meet rather than the British F1 grand prix for which I had got tickets.
A truly shocking game on Avatar of under 4 million.
Somehow volunteering to be treasurer for the following season.
Getting over 5mil on Robocop, but only AFTER all scores had been submitted.
Being invited in to The Thursday Night Tea Drinking Club, which I've attended almost every Thursday since.
Bruce arriving as a puppy.🐶

Some very good friends made that day.

Circe.... jesus. What awful memories. I think I built two of those prototypes. The best version was MK1 with the DMD in it.
The awful transparent screen (Andrew broke 2 of them putting them in!) that were so fragile and the PF had to be lit with something that makes pinstadium look like candles.
@Sven Normansson - I am sure both of us could write a book on this.

Don't forget the promotional flyer with 2 right feet 🤣🦶🦶

Tagging a few old timers in no particular order. I've definitely missed a few too, forgive me

Did yesterday’s FB post by @Poibug jog your memory on this one Paul?
One of my highlights of this trip was playing Derby Day, a machine me and my mate Col, (he’s the lanky Trot you see me with at Pinfest), used to play to death in the early 70s at Ilkeston bowl.91188058-6871-4536-9A8F-75D0F5B27209.jpeg709C71A2-386F-46E3-838A-46B75B85F114.jpeg

11 years ago this week (2012)

More innocent times, when I smuggled a (temporary) immigrant to/from Daventry in the back of the van

Same year I got a world record low score on Addams Family

Heighway showed off his first proto game

Back in the days the show hall was left unlocked all night! Here's a 2am walkaround

Went to a pinball/retro event near Gatwick in 1996. Organised by the late/great Bob Thompson I think. Lots if Americana there. Should have got into importing Coke machines (the soft drink variety).

I got my first pin in 1999.

Was asked to help out at the first Pins Anon AVFC show. Which after realising nobody was listening to me about power distribution I had organised very cheaply - I pulled out of it.

I did get a phone call at work at said show from Mark Squires or Aid Cooper saying they needed me to sort out the power.

A lot of bodges that year. But the show went ahead.

Following year we had proper power distro, and all machines got PAT tested.

This year - I was tempted to go to the reception on sunday to have a go on Scooby Doo (that I learnt was knackered - and I will get to play when it goes back to PH and no doubt I will have to fix it) or Magic Girl. In a way I do not really want to play Magic Girl as I think it is the most gorgeous pinball I have ever seen.

I still get a little disappointed with seeing the old shows with the Heighway games. I put a lot into those protos of Circe and Full Throttle.

Love seeing the old walk around videos of Deventry, quite remarkable what's been achieved and how for it has evolved. That 12/13 layout just seems so claustrophobic and not great for socialising. The dynamic of the room now feels fantastic, people flow around the central banks and the comp area by the stage creates a great buzz at the far end of the room - arguably the bar near the door causes a great buzz too! Its just looks like a totally different vibe and to be honest I absolutely love the show it has become!

Interesting to see what games were in circulation back then, quite a few that I've never seen at Pinfest (from the 3 years I've been able to go) that were there then.

some old receipts

I always thought Genesis was £80 oh well my memory is fading

£50 was TOO much for SF2 Phil !!

WHITEWATER was a pin not the video. MK2 - was going rate for them then

MOTORDOME wasnt worth it for £167+VAT but I swapped it for F14 so all is good in the pinball universe

SPACE STATION was on loan for the POA 1988 show. We had it in our student house for 2 weeks before we took it back to London.

SPACE SHUTTLE was straight of the arcade floor on Blackpool prom. was stuck to the floor!
