The "Today I received" Thread

Picked up my second Spin Out yesterday and it's in way better condition than the first one :D It shoots and plays although there are a few things not working as expected but at least it's not rusty (very happy with this ones coin door).....not bad for 250 quid

That looks like a very fair price on the machine you got there @ronsplooter - none of this >£700-for-an-EM nonsense that has them sitting in the For Sale section for 6 months...

Agreed, but as with any pin, there is a price for players condition and then one for a a bare wood restore. Some can be very special yet limited market and will sit, some (most) are overpriced smelly and wrecked. For £250 this looks a good deal 👍

Not pinball related but picked up another pachinko machine last night, came in a pretty cool standup cabinet (needs repainting however) The owner used to work for a production company and said this was used as a prop in the TV series Giri Haji, which I've never seen but will have to try and watch now. £100 with the cab and a battle counter seems like a complete steal

A total steal, nice work 😉

Picked up last week for 1150. Backglass is nice and cabinet is not too bad. I’ll do a new playfield at some point and it needs a good service and new rubbers etc

Finally got round to picking this up yesterday! Underneath the dust I think there's a really nice condition game so I'm well pleased :D I gave the cab a quick wipe down before moving it into the cabin and it looks good. Playfield is in fantastic shape and should only need a few minor touch ups and the backglass should be similar. Electrically it's an unknown at the moment so I'll be doing some testing this weekend but I'd already factored in getting a new Janin 4 in 1 board for it.

It's definitely had work done in the past as theres an invoice (undated) from David Blake in Cambridge showing a load of stuff being sorted. Anyone know who this is and if they're on the forum? Also, the legs are a bit unusual and one's I've not seen before where the edges are rolled inwards....anyone know if this is Gottlieb Sys 1 specific?

I'll start a shop log thread for this one as it's a game you don't see that much

@Spandangler @David_Vi I'll give you guys a shout re: re-pinning Gottlieb connectors as I could do with knowing where to get the relevant parts from  I'm missing a few connector housings as someone seemed to like soldering directly to the boards

If they're the single sided ones you can use standard molex crimp pins (I don't know the correct terminology)I re did most in black hole this way.
The Gottlieb pins aren't easy to get out but it's possible. I can get pics later if it's helpful.
The other option is to get jamma edge connectors and cut them to size, then solder the wires onto the lugs and heatshrink tube it. I did that for the connector on the credits display.

More “this week” than ”today”, but picked up this lovely beast from the all-round excellent fella @scottydoesntknow, whose turtling skills are second to none.
