The "How much is this table worth" thread....

Been offered a 1960 Gottlieb Wagon Train

Is it worth anything only 1,100 made and the seller thinks she recalls it working in the 80's !!!!!!!

Mel
Me too! Has to be the same one. Pf looks like its had a lot of white paint, study the roll -overs! I bet he or she will want millions for it too 🙄

I had an email from her on Friday. As it's sort of local, I'd take a look but it looks like a spares machine if I'm correct about the playfield. The pictures I received were too low a resolution to gauge it. Backglass might be ok and Shay stock them plus plastics but at the end of the day, theres getting on 600 odd just for those two items plus the work involved so unless it's cheap, not for me.

Just out of curiosity, how much would you expect to pay for a Fathom? We don't have room currently, but might in the future (and my only classic is out of action undergoing a v.v. slow playfield swap).

I only tend to work on EMs to be honest so I dont really know its value in today's money. I did own one some years ago and then flogged it to a guy in Australia; and what a palava to ship it, but that's another story ;)

Fathom £4-5k. might be more if you have to persuade someone to part with theirs

i paid £1700 for a project. total spend so far is about £3900 including new pf, backglass, stencils, paint, drops, plastics etc and 80 hrs work. still need to do the pf swap.

Or there's the repro for about 10k.

I'd be ideally looking for a working project. I've considered the repo, but I'd ideally prefer to do the work myself (and the music on the repo is awful).

ok peeps, HUO Elvira House of Horrors premium, unboxed and never moved. Not a mark on it. new on PH site 13K. Thinking of moving on and I don't play often enough anymore. Worth?

My first born (full disclosure: his a bit lazy at times and useless at manual labour but good with numbers) and a ****ed liver any good to you ?

Original players condition Bally Centaur. works. Cab needs a bit of work and playfield has wear to top shooter and top in lanes. All original boards.

Owner has had it for over 20 years.

What’s a fair price?

£2.5k for shabby but working surely?

3k as long as the backglass is OK. Anywhere up to 5 for a minter.

Traditionally the 3 desirable ballys were 8bd centaur and fathom but with kiss the most valuable due to theme

Now swap kiss for flash Gordon and that fact hasn't changed.

Flash Gordon is great. One of my favourite pins of all time.

*Sadly, my husband didn't like it as much as I do.

Ok, a bit of a weird one here but bear with me. My dad spent a year or two living in Florence from around 1970 when he was in his early 20s. He’d never played pinball before but he found one in the basement of a local coffee shop and that is where he fell in love with it - and that in turn meant he got me into the hobby.

We’ve finally worked out that this was the machine:

I thought it could be nice to try to surprise him with one. I’ve had a look on pinball owners and I’ve found one for sale in Italy that is in ‘great shape and fully operational’ according to the seller. I know you can’t put a price on sentimental value etc, but out of curiosity - can anyone give me any vague indication of how much a game like this is worth if it is as the seller describes?

No idea of the going price but how great is it to be able to buy something that someone actually wants rather than the usual desperate presents 😀

That's the Italian version of the more common Spin a Card or its add a ball cousin, Hearts and Spades. Cost? I've never seen one on sale in the UK though the Spin a Card version is often on sale. You can pick these up from £500 upward. It's a good game if set up well too.

Thanks @Doug - it may be more sensible to look for a Spin a Card in that case. Where is the best place to keep an eye out for one?

I suppose the dreaded Ebay is a good start, Gumtree etc. This model is unusual in that it features an oblong shape head whereas the others were all 'Wedge head' shaped.
If you find one, make sure the spinner unit and functions correctly or the 'Spin a Card' feature, wont work😉 it's the Spin Pulse X relay that is the usual culprit.

here are pics of the centaur, mentioned above

That's a really nice original playfield. Don't often see them without wear!

Looks decent for the age except the wear to the cab.
