T2 "CPU String" lamps not working

I use flux cored solder but use extra paste when working on older boards to help with heat transmission and getting old solder to flow when reflowing or taking out old solder. It was something I read as a tip when I first started and it has always worked well for me.
Yes, I use that technique too. As you say whatever works. It's just all about getting good heat transmission and a good joint.
Best flux (their solder too) on the world. Made in UK. Pricey but worth every penny. Specially for SMD and BGA, doesn't leave brown residue when burned.

Nice. A pet hate. These that don't clean up after soldering.
Still need to clean SMD with IPA but believe me, this thing is really great. Much better than Amtech and many others.
For the students that's iisopropyl alcohol not Indian Pale Ale. Dont mix them up when choosing what to drink.
