That's what it says on the old one 2 x 5a

That is a normal 5A filter. It also has 5A load capability at the first harmonic, maybe that is why they put the 2x on it.

Yes, will work.

All good now with new chip fitted to mpu, have sorted out the hacked wires from mpu to driver, everuthing is working switches and coils, happy no spider chips have failed! Also added the 2 fuses to small transformer, made labels for all the plugs in the backbox and removed the marker pen writing, So now on to the cosmetics.......
