BUdapest pinball Museum

Did you see any UKPinfest flyers or posters? I gave him a batch which he said he'd have available for punters.

Went about 3 years ago and loved it, such a brilliant place and Budapest itself is a great place to visit

Was in the Budapest Pinball Museum this evening, what a great place! Pins, arcades, em games all on free play [emoji1] Managed to get some games on stuff I’d never played before.....

So you found it then Chris - well worth the visit ??

Cheers

Was there a week or so ago. Great place. Krakow pinball museum very similar, a few less machines, but I actually slightly prefer it.

Damn, why couldnt this be in Bucharest and not Budapest!!! Seems to be spending a little time there recently....

yeah will deffo have to get there - is it still a cheap place to eat and drink then ?

Yeah, everything seems very reasonable [emoji1303] we stayed at Hotel Moments which I can highly recommend!

Just sat in a cafe in Gozsdu Court in 28 degree sunshine [emoji16] been to that arcade that Matt recommended but they’ve cut the number of pins since he was here. Just a TWD that won’t take money and a Shrek and Star Trek with weak flippers!

Looks like we need to sort out a jolly boys outting , looks a great place with some unusual machines.

Will be visiting Budapest soon.

So apart from the pinball museum, just wondering where else might have arcades or pinball to play?

Also, any other tips? eg. time of day to visit when there's not loads of people etc.

Thanks!

Cant remember exactly where it was or what it was called but there was a great bar in the Jewish quarter when I went about 3 years ago that had a Stern Star Trek & Walking Dead on 25p per play and the beer was really cheap too :)

The only other place I found was the arcade at Gozsdu Court but as I say, the games weren't in the best shape. I went to the pinball museum in the evening (think about 8ish) and it was pretty dead. I got on everything I wanted with no waiting

I'm back from Budapest, so finally I can make a little contribution to this forum.

I took so many photos and videos, so I'll post in a few batches.

We went on Sunday afternoon. We walked from the little island, across the yellow bridge, stopping to have lunch at an american bbq place. If we had walked directly I reckon it would have taken 15-20mins? We got there at around 3pm.

It wasn't difficult to find but it's in a quieter area of town. As it was still light, the neon sign was turned off.

The place is in a basement, with several rooms/ areas. This is the main area.

Initially, I wanted to take a photo of every single machine there, but after I got about 1/2 way through I gave up. =D

There were many weird and wonderful machines, games I've never heard of being a beginner that I am. So I'm just gonna tell it as I see it.

This one is just crazy. It's called Orbitor 1. The playfield is bumpy like the surface of the moon. It's not populated with loads of stuff like your regular pinball machine, but instead there are a few magnets (I assume) that attracts the ball and somehow get the ball to orbit around them. It's very clever and at times look amazing, but it's not your average game if you see what I mean. It was noteworthy never the less.

Some of the artwork on these games are really gorgeous.

There was a birthday party there when we arrived so a small section was taped off, but there were more than enough games to play.
20180923_155149.jpg

I finally played Party Monsters! =) I enjoyed it. (might not look it in this photo)
20180923_155312.jpg

All these games I've only ever read about or seen pictures of I got to play. I concur that Cirqus Voltaire is a very good game.
20180923_160325.jpg

Also Arabian Nights get the thumbs up from me too. =)
20180923_160329.jpg

My new fave though was Banzai Run for its outlandish vertical section and the magnet thingy that picks up the ball to make that transition.

Many more photos to come.

And videos.

this place is a must, there are some games there that i have never seen!

Looks fantastic. I'd really love to visit one of these days (also the Dutch and Las Vegas pinball museums too). If I ever find the time and money :D

it's very accessible. 2hr odd flight from gatwick for me, and then 1/2hr bus into town. everywhere in the city is pretty walkable and things are relatively cheap if you wanna look after the pennies.

...continue.

so not only pinball games, but EM games and allsorts.

and they had this massive pinball machine, but sadly it was out of order. are the balls like size of cricket balls i wonder?
