I posted this on pinside too.
Im absolutely raging with myself .Had just played my best game ever right before this.

I changed out the caps C11 and C5 on my WhiteWater as they were about to go.
Put it all back together played a game then moved the machine a little a it just went off.

Checked all cables/fuses twice.
I have no leds on the CPU board (this scares me)

Leds 2,3, and 4 are out ,
i no 5v at test point 2 but I do have 100v at test point 6 (50v)

Ive no GI either. No dmd or anything.
Where will I start?

I'm going to guess a dodgy solder job on one of the caps. My Shadow is currently a bit flakey due to my botched solder job, touching the cap gives me my 5v back and the machine boots. I need to take the board back out and resolder.

If it worked fine before and after, maybe the solder "legs" are too long, and have been shorted out on the Metal backplate. Might be salvageable if nothing has blown if this is the case - trim the solder "blobs" as short as possible (and place some tape over them to see if this is the issue)...

Long shot i know, however worth a quick check :)

When you remove the caps, you pull out the through-plating. It's the bit of metal that you'll see on the extracted cap. That means you have zero connection between solder and component side. So any tracks on the component side that have a solder pad under the capacitor now have no connection. The only way you can repair this is by placing jumper wires on the solder side to replace the ineffectual tracks on the component side.

It's working. I giggled oe of the caps around and it came out life.
Thanks to everyone here for helping me again. I had to in my head it was wrote off. Such relief!
