Hey sorry if this is the wrong place so please move if it is. I want to light the houses on my flinstones. I bought this https://www.pinballshop.nl/playfiel...ap-board-for-williams-bally-wpc-era-machines/ i also bought some 12v RGB LEDS with a controller. Now this is where i could be wrong but i cut the plug off the controller and wired that into the molex of the splitter board but nothing happens when plugged in, so i tried wiring it straight the the led strip on their 12v points but again nothing. Has anyone used one of these boards before or are there any other ways to tap the 12vs without an adapter? it appears j116-118 are all in use (118 powers the color dmd) and ive tried using this points too with same results. If not can anyone reccomend some 12v rgb leds they have used on their pins? i didnt really want to keep taking power from the lamp holders etc
whilst on the subject of LEDS i replaced all my bulbs with comets but there is 1 that just refuses to work. At first i thought it was the solder around the board (they are twist in style) so i re flowed this, ive tried a brand new bulb holder incase it was corroded etc and checked the traces/solder/pins for the board and all appear to be in good condition, this is the only bulb out of the set of 8 on the board that refuses to work. Anything else i can check? still new to this stuff so sorry if this is a stupid question

Do you have a pic/link to the controller?
On the non working bulb: can be a broken solder joint on the pins on the board (you saidyou checked but reflowing is always a good idea) or a broken cable somewhere, have you tried moving another lamp into this position to ensure it isn’t the holder for sure.

Did you test before cutting the plug off? First thing I'd do from here is reattach it & see if that works. Sounds like what you are trying should work, so if the reconnected plug does make them work, check you're getting the expected voltage from the splitter board.

thanks for the replies, yeah i tested before cutting and got it all connected to my phone through the app, checked they worked in the houses as i wanted then cut the plug, this is the kit i got https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08BJ1S47C?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title plug says 240 in and 12v out the control unit says 12v so im guessing it doesnt convert the power inside of it. Wanted to test the voltage coming out of the board but sods law the battery in my multimeter is dead and i dont have a 9v lying around :(
as for the none working bulb, yeah ive tried holders and bulbs that 100% work and occasionally it would work during attract then stop after a few mins, ive checked the pins on the connector for the board and they all seem solid with no cold joints. i will try trace the wire for splits etc on friday when i have the day off.

ok so good news, it works :) managed to rob a battery from my smoke alarm for testing, turns out the fuse on the board was a dud, no continuity from the 12v pins but ground was fine so tested the fuse and nothing there either. swapped it over for one i know works and everything lights up as expected finally. No to split the power with some terminal blocks so i can keep it all nice and neat.

Is it the last lamp on the row or column? If so, probably a break at the next connector upstream. If it isn’t and the next lamps work it is a dud IDC insertion on the local plug. Please get the correct tool as a small screwdriver usually makes things worse.

Yeah it is the last bulb on the row, I ordered an idc tool last night that should arrive today so going to try re seating it as originally the ground one next to it had a split so I took that out stripped it re soldered it and poked it back in with a card (it works but was a nightmare so I ordered a tool) I'll totally remove the board again later and get some pics in here incase somebody can see something I cant if the re seating doesn't work
