So here’s yet another ‘first pin’ thread for you all :)

Ok so I’ve been on here a few days now to get the gist of what goes on.

I’m after my first pin. Not looking for any AAA games and have a budget limit of approx. £1500, depending on what some items I’m selling over the next few weeks go for on fleaBay (if you are a collector of die cast F1 cars let me know). Doesn’t mean I’m willing to spend that much on a cacky table of course. Would want one in good condition but don’t need one with an immaculate cabinet condition, so long as it looks fine and plays well without any major faults I’d be happy enough, players pin is what I’m after, not a collectors one. Am not in any rush to get one either, it’s a case of the right table at the right price.

I’ll be keeping an eye out on the for sale section of course if anything comes up. Have played quite a number of tables in person and know what I like to play. If a table comes up that I’ve not had experience of and isn’t too far to travel I’d be willing to go and try it out (am based in Lancashire). My car isn’t big enough to hold one so would need to get it delivered (Martin perhaps).

I don’t have any ‘dream’ tables per say, certainly not with the budget I have available (unless anyone has a £1500 Monster Bash going, somehow I doubt it), but any of the following would be great (if any are unrealistic with my budget please say so). In no particular order:

Creature from the Black Lagoon
No Good Gofers
Fish Tales
Black Rose
Tales from the Crypt
Stern NBA
Stern Monopoly
Funhouse

Thanks for any help given :D

Edit: just to add, I only have room for 1 table in the house.

Leyland - isn't that where Wez is?

He was in Lancaster when I picked NF up off him last year. His house gives you the worlds hardest ground floor pin removal ever though. Dunno how we'd have got it to the car without his help. Top bloke.

From the OP's list I'd say Funhouse and NGG would be out of the price range.

FT & BR should be around 1k +/- a couple hundred depending on condition (and on the topper for FT - If you don't like 'billy the fish' up on top you can knock a couple hundred off the expected price for a topper-less example I reckon).

Not too sure about TFTC, but would say sub-1k, I think, going from price discussions about some recent-ish offerings on eBay.

Creech might be doable, but I reckon would def be at or slightly over the top-end of your price range if you can get one.

No idea about the 2 Sterns. Don't think they're particularly popular tables though so might be possible.

Hope that helps.

Toppers don't really interest me, if a table came without one it would not make the slightest bit of difference.

Had a feeling Funhouse and NGG might be out of range but certainly not the end of the world.

Thanks for the advice so far.

I couldn't have my FT without the over-the-top mental fish topper, but different strokes for different folks I guess :).

If you're ever this far down the M6 feel free to drop in and have a play :)

Actually, If you're going to the Pinball Party at Daventry I think someone said recently they'd be taking their Fish Tales to sell on there?

Silly q... are you after only 1 table? Or do you have room for more?

Just thinking 1.5l could be two tables :)

First theres only room for one, second its been hard enough persuaduing the missus to have 1 in the house, let alone 2 :)

Only place i could fit more than 1 is the garage, and that ain't exactly the best spot for putting one, although when the leaking roof is replaced next month it may be a bit better :D

I have 4 in my garage, just painting the floor to keep dust down and installing a weatherstrip to keep the weather out. I do have an advantage that its part of the house though :D

Whaaaaaaaat! Ya don't like Congo!! It's a sleeper I'll tell ya;) My favourite pinball music ever.

In other news, still no news on the FG. Don't hold ya breath:rolleyes:

I've no intention of joining the 'More pins than space' thread anytime soon, let me at least get the first table in guys!
