My 1981 WMS Pharaoh , which has not been turned on for about 18 months, wont boot up. Its GI light up and I can hear the speaker humm but that's about all, displays are all out too I had the boards checked and repaired by John Wyatt ( Home Pinball) around 2016. ( I think it was then anyway) and its had little use prior to being laid up ( kept indoors in a warm room)
I have replaced the back-up battery and I also had a brand new 5101 memory chip for it as spare, but it's made no difference. When I press the test button on the mpu board, sometimes it locks up showing zero but sometimes not. Theres no sign of corrosion( I had already removed the battery before laying the machine up) Also, the test buttons inside the coun door dont do anything either.
Does anyone have any pointers as to what might be wrong please?
Many thanks, Doug.

reseat all the board connections, press all the mpu chips into their sockets . leave it switched on for 15-20 mins. try again

Thanks, Alan.

I'll give that a try and let you know what happened.

Make sure you dont leave it unattended if leaving it switched on in case it decides to semi-boot, crash and then lock coils - this has happened to me in the past…

When reseating connections don’t forget the 40 pin interconnect.
