I need to replace the armature on switch 62, the first switch the ball hits on launch, on my FT.
When I got the machine it was badly set up, so much so the ball would hang up on it.After much fiddling and butchering I got it working better but it can interfere with the flow as it rounds the top loop making it stuttery, not smooth. It sits too high but I don't want to mess with it anymore and knacker it completely.
So I'll just replace the armature on the switch. Easier said than done. I've tried to find codes/suffixes for the different armatures to no avail, this one is offset (see pic).
I've even tried to find if blank, ie straight ones are available that you can bend yourself. Nada.
Are there part numbers for different ones, if so does anyone know what mine is? Where do I get one?
As I've recently put in a new PF/decals etc it's bugging me.

Hi Alan is it the one going through the playfield ?
If it is take it off and polish it to a nice shiny finish , that has always sorted it out for me !

Might be worth a go but I’d ideally like to replace it, it’s already been chopped and butchered but who supplies them?

All the pinball parts shops have them. The only difference is the arm, which varies
Get the part number from the manual and you'll be able to find the. switch with the correct arm

Been there, done that. Though I did get confused with a manual misprint when it said R boat entry was the same (see pic).
That’s what threw me with the suffixes.
It’s immaterial anyway as they seem to be unobtanium, which takes me down the path of making one.
What type and gauge of wire? How is it attached to the swivel/pivot mount?
Anyone know/have any ideas?

I googled it and found lots of them, mostly at USA or European shops, I'm sure if you ask David from retro arcade specialists he can get one in for you

marcos have dozens of different types

Not being a lazy sod here but could you give links to those available. I’ve found a few, Europe, America, Australia but on closer inspection they’re out of stock, unavailable or discontinued

Bend your own version.

You can prise off the actuator with a micro screwdriver and then it will just snap onto the old switch but I would recommend replacing the switch as that could be the problem. Most problems I have had with switches not working have been on loops such as this one. I expect the switches need to be tip top condition for them to register every time. I have had switches on loops check out fine whilst testing but they just don't register with a fast ball in game.

Will try this. Postage from Australia is frightening

Then ask David to order one in, you'll not pay any extra.
He's got a thread for stuff like this.
