Who Does This ?

A friend has an 18yr old daughter studying at Newcastle Uni.

This weekend she was injected with a date rape drug in a bar/ club. She was taken to hospital, her mum drove hours to get there to be with her. She was sat alongside two other young women who had been similarly assaulted.

She is now on antibiotics and there are concerns about potential hepatitis/ HIV infection.

I had heard about this obscene crime in the media but didn't appreciate how prevalent it was.

Who the hell does this ?

Absolutely dreadful. People who do these types of things are utter scum.

There is no rational explanation David, you may be better off not searching for one. those responsible need rounding up, castrating and getting caged at their relatives' expense until their early death at the hands of their co-inmates. i hope your friend's daughter gets some help for the psychological trauma as well as the physical assault.

As a father of a daughter coming of age this is a massive concern, sorry to hear. This is a more and more common occurrence and you wonder who exactly, or what type of bloke does this, assuming it’s a bloke, it probably was let’s be honest.

There are more and more young men out there who don’t know how to get a girl the normal way and rather than learning the chat up and social skills, they think they can take what they want, is that a cultural thing?. It’s really bloody awful and extremely dangerous to boot.

Down in Newquay now at the boardmasters festival this behaviour is more and more common, not to mention setting people’s tents on fire! Wtf! I’m sure it happens all over.

People never used to do this type of crap, don’t know what the solution is but it’s very difficult to do anything about it other than stay extremely vigilant, however some coward simply has to bump into you in a bar and you’re hit.

It really is a jungle out there, more so than ever. All you can do is be as positive as possible and keep away from situations where it may occur, grim. What happened to going out for a few drinks and a bit of fun.

Serious consequences for the crime is all that can be done to deter people.
