Which LEDs for Sterns?

As some of you know I just got my first Stern, a RBION. Being a fan of LEDs, well at least for inserts I just tried a few in it to be greeted by some lovely ghosting. I've previously fitted Phil's superbrights to my Getaway and Shadow and got rid of the ghosting by fitting a patched EPROM supplied by Paul. However I don't believe this can be done on Sterns ( please correct me? ). I've tried some superbrights and some of the cheapest 1stop LEDs and they both ghost horribly.

So what LEDs are Stern owners using? Do you just put up with the ghosting or is it a matter of paying for the LEDs that claim to be ghost free?

Cheers

Kev

I think it's pretty obvious, the one without LED OCD is very binary, very on off, the one with LED OCD the LED's decay softly.

I bought a full lot of these for my BSD from David, they're top quality LED's and he's a top bloke to deal with. He used to offer a 10% discount for forum members too, not sure if he still does but worth giving him a shout. Buy with confidence!

Kev, you could pick them up at the next SWL meet as I'm sure David will be there...

If you can wait that long that is...!!!

I got a few recently to try on the inserts on my FT. They remained faintly lit when off which was a little disappointing :( I did ask David and he mentioned maybe needing a ROM update.

Yep, Paul sorted me out with a patched ROM for BSD and it works a treat, game looks awesome!

They all come from the same factory in China regardless of who flogs them over here or in the states.
Not true. I believe that Mark Squires was saying there are a few factories that produce them - Admittedly not many, however they are also produced to different specs. An LED isnt an LED which isnt an LED ;)
