Looking at putting IEC connectors on a few of my pins as the cables get damaged when they're dragged about.

Take DE Star Wars for example.....I'll need an IEC connector with a big enough face plate to fit over the hole in the cabinet. Struggling to find anything with a large faceplate.

That certainly won't be big enough.

Panel mounted and a metal faceplate probably your best bet if you wanted to move away from the factory solution.

The big plastic cone is supposed to accept the plug after all the cable is pulled inside the cab, so in theory damage shouldn't occur.

Can't remeber if all DEs have that or not?

I have some left from when we were going to build desktop games pretty sure there abit like this 1689520532438.png
I’ll get some pictures tomorrow for you

Not sure the switch would last long as these are show machines so spend most of their life tombstoned and getting trollied back and forth.
May be OK if if doesn't protrude out past the sliders.

What about a smaller one mounted on a plate and screwed to the inside of the cabinet to fit inside the hole?

Yeah it would get fitted on the inside but I don't think the circumference of the hole would be big enough for the socket and the switch. And then it would be too big for those fixing holes.
