What do other people collect

Loves Longview and must have seen them at least 6 times if not more.

Did you ever see Fell City Girl who supported Longview once? Great band, sadly got nowhere.
Yeah they ring a bell. I went through a phase in the early to mid 2000's when I was going out to a different gig maybe 6-8 times a month, saw loads of little indie bands. I'll dig through my tickets.

See you have Biffy there in some smaller venues too. I saw them play at Northampton Soundhaus supporting a band called Cooper Temple Clause who'd released a couple of singles. Biffy only had about 6 songs but were awesome. Played to about 8 people 🤣

I remember Cooper Temple Clause, although not a great fan.

Yeah was one of their earlier gigs with about 50.people. Loved their early stuff like 27, 57 and Justboy. Less keen on their subsequent offerings. Was shocked when they made it big as thought they would be just another band that fell by the wayside like all the others!

Would have loved to have gone to more gigs but was usually an hour's drive there for me so had to be more choosy esp with a full on job at the time. Was wondering if anyone would spot the early gig tickets fort Biffy. One more notable point of interest which could be spotted from the tickets....

Did you ever see Glitterbox? Best band I never got the chance to see.

I agree mate, 27, 57, Joy.Discovery.Invention just awesome. Looking back a lot of these gigs were about £5 as well. I used to travel from Northants to Cambridge, Nottingham, Oxford, Leicester, all over as long as it was within about 2hrs.
Don't think I've seen Glitterbox. The Music were one of my faves of that time, saw them a lot along with JJ72, The Vines, Woodstar etc. Happy days

Re. the gig tickets; The Cavern in Raynes Park, which work supplied with fruit machines and jukebox, had tickets sealed under glass on the table tops. Along with the best 'fill' of said jukebox (50 works' choice, 50 the landlords') to be found at any of our locations. The slogan on the spare wheel cover of their Suzuki jeep was 'No Rap, No Crap'

As for Idlewild, I refer to New York's international airport as AFKAI (Airport Formerly Known As Idlewild), having no time for the feller it was renamed after.

I have a mixture of mainly sideshow, xm studios and Prime 1.
Have two other rooms with dc and Star Wars in

Comics ! Mainly first prints of notable releases.

Best examples in my collection would be the full run of Star wars comics from start to finish including all the posters and free gifts still intact. That's 1978 onwards.

Also like international editions, I have Star Wars comics in Dutch, German, French etc.

I've got a 4ft high collection of 2000AD comics all in their bags. I leep thinking one day I'll get to read them all, but not likely to ever happen realistically.

I started with the short lived Star Lord that then merged with 2000AD …. 1978 I think . Happy memories popping down the newsagents every Saturday to pick up 2000AD and Whizzer And Chips for me and my brother, and the Radio Times 😁
The newsagent also had an arcade game for a while - Pac-Man, Battlezone . And of course a Slush Puppy machine. Best shop ever !

Had a pile of 2000AD 1978 to 1982 I think . Gave them to a jumble sale when we were clearing out to move house in 82. Ffs …Regret that now 😂

ABC Warriors was incredible . Could make an awesome film , and pinball machine !

I'm a huge fan of Simon Bisley and the ABC Warriors. I used to work with a guy who had an original page framed on the wall behind him. Not sure what page it was, but it was the one that had this on it. 692bf8ae44f3e6a2f866bf0ecbb2087b.jpg

I've got a few original bits of artwork too. A few bits of Bisley (no ABC unfortunately) and an original Boo Cook pencil Judge Dredd front cover...I'll have to dig them out later :)

2000AD, Bisley's etc

One of my favourite bits of original concept art and the comic it was used for next to it

loving your gun law artwork
I was very lucky with that one. I got it for £160 about 10 years ago on eBay....I was the only bidder. I was talking to the guy who sold it on a Facebook forum a couple of years ago about it, he still remembered being shocked it went that low.

I had a small static Mamod as a kid which got me into pyromania. I have one traction engine at the moment and keep thinking I need more. Lovely to see Fire and Water being these things to life.
