Hi Guys, see pic of my WH2O soundcard here(actually swapped from FT) you can see substantial burning around these components yet the board is still working. Is this a common issue? Do I need to replace these and if so which ones and do the values (wattage etc) need up rating ?

Also can see in the pic the caps look a bit puffy as well

Cheers Kev

I'd replace the burnt resistors and clean the board whilst they were out. Change caps if they're puffy.

Also those corroded fuses look like a future intermittent power issue waiting to happen, so you'll want to replace those and clean up the fuse holders as well

C28 will have been the root cause there. That's a 1uf tantalum capacitor. They like to short circuit and explode from time to time. It'll still work (like you say it does) but you'll have a noisy power supply now.

So the heat has also destroyed R11, which is on the pre-amp side of audio channel 2. I'd be suprised if the sound has not been affected by that, unless the resistor is still functioning

Yeah I have new cappy and resistors ready fit - see how it goes after that!!!
