Finally got a few hours spare to hopefully get whitewater working with a bit of help from you lot :)

A few of the playfield lights come one and the speakers hum but that's it.

Checked the boards agains my Getaway and the only difference I can see is the D19, 20 and 21 LEDs are flashing differently.

On WH20 D19 and 21 are on constantly whereas D20 is flashing and D21 is on constantly on Getaway.

Any ideas? Thanks

Yeah just put it back together.

Tried that but no luck unfortunately.

Reckon swapping out the board from my Getaway would be worth a go?

Disconnect the three ribbon cables and see if it boots without them. If not then most likely low 5v to cpu. Do you have a meter?

The top right ribbon looks oddly orientated. It doesn't matter if it's upside down as long as the other end is reversed too. Check you have pin 1 going to pin 1 on both boards. Use the red band as a helper.

Disconnected all ribbon cables, D20 flashed for a few seconds and there's a light coming from the rom chip

The label was on upside down so I blame pinball center ;)

Had a spare luckily which is in and we have playfield GI lights!

Noting else though, no DMD or sound... :hmm:

Reseated the ribbon cables and we have a DMD!

But it's in ****ing French!!

Yes please Paul. :)

The cpu board has a screened outline of an 8-switch housing, as seen on the early solid-state games. On the Wpc system, some of these jumpers/switches are used to select the territory the game is intended for; changing them resets the game. The patterns for France, Germany and sometimes Spain have the game default to the appropriate language text. Since you're starting from scratch, the advice to remove them all (which installs usa values) is okay, but it is possible to change the language on its own. The language adjustment is in Standard Adjustments, but in French it's 'R.1.21' rather than 'A.1.21', since the adjustment menus are 'Menu Reglage' in French.

Thanks Jay

We are now working in English but unfortunately my escape button isn't working on the coin door!
