Would like to echo my thanks to Dave and Linda for yet another great weekend of pinball, Thank You.
Also to the pin loaders and all who helped out to make the weekend possible.
Fantastic weekend apart from breaking down on the way back home and I'm still now trying to sort out getting to work this week while the van is getting repaired.
Sorry to hear it might be the last but Shaun might be able to take the reins next year to continue the Welsh comp.
More drinking time eh Dave.

Went up on the Saturday only and had a great time - great selection of machines and even got my first initials on a game :) (I'm sure it was reset to defaults as the P4 score I got wasn't amazing, but it was still a first! for me!)
Would be a shame to find a great event locally to me now only to find it was the last :(
Good venue too, easy to find, easy to park, beer in both rooms.
With a view to pricing - I'm always amazed at generally how cheap these shows, and the leagues, are - £7? for a whole day of games - Personally I'd pay at least twice that and still feel it was a bargain!
Thanks for comments. Some people thought it was expensive... cocks.
If you need Pinball tech work then I have customers in Sheepscombe and Nailsworth.
Dave

The last has eventually left the Olive Tree.

Very good feedback from its owner, Andrew.

He even contributed for ideas (for next time...)

Hope you all enjoyed the venue? He has 166 bookings so far this year including 33 weddings.

The Welsh Gaming Weekend 2017 is finally over. Last 10 pinballs collected and now dropped off with their owners.
Will be following up with the Thank You stuff and starting a report.

It's bloody typical that I'm down that way one weekend too late :(... At an adventure motorcycle event this weekend at a place called Ystradgynlais on the edge of the Brecon Beacons. Ah well... maybe another time

We had an excellent weekend in Cwmbran, South Wales
for the Welsh Classic on Saturday and the Welsh
Pinball Cup on Sunday.
The event plans started in April 2016 and found and
booked the Olive Tree in September. The date was
booked around helpers shifts, but was soon clashed
with two bigger European competitions.
Events like these wouldn't happen if people didn't
offer to help in any way. Entering and paying
before helped alot, machine pledges etc. We
advertised twice on BBC Wales Radio and with local
flyers. We didn't get that many public and we don't
know why?
So would like to start thanking certain people.
Pledgers. Dan & Phoebe Lewell for 3 Pinballs, Ian &
Dan Wallace for 3 Pinballs, Kev Donovan for 3
Pinballs, Simon White for 4 Pinballs, Mike
Kindler,Mike Parkins and Helmut Lagenbruch for
theirs too. Darren for the Fishtales. Poibug for
tech work.
Special thanks to Ed Emms for the endless van trips
and the Pinball lumping.
Also, the guys who stayed on to help fold down,
Kevin Donovan, Dan Williams, Don Gauld and Tom
Fletcher. Very much appreciated.
Need to thank my son Alex for all his work before
the event to set up the console section, borrowing
tv's, buying extra controllers and putting the
venue back to normal.
Deb for flyer design.
Thanks to my sister who put up with my storage
requests and looking after loaned machines.
Of course, Lynda for everything she does that I
take for granted and who had to put up with me
before, during and after.
Thanks to Greg for the Scoring template and
apologies that we didn't use it (lesson learned)
Also thanks to Andrew Thomas, Romain and Kim Wilde.
Apologies if I missed anyone out.

Dave.
