Unstuck cliffy - what to stick back down with?

One of the metal protectors around a VOLT insert is bent and lifting on one side.

What's the best thing to use to stick it back down? Glues, double-sided tape? Links to a webshop welcome! :)

Should I remove it completely to bend it back into shape? (Worried that'll make it adhere even less...)

Thanks

The volts rollovers are notorious for having ghosting/milky (and thus slightly lifting) inserts around them. If removing, I would do so **VERY** carefully and probably would heat it first to loosen the glue. 467MP would be ideal for this

Unfortunately the damage was already done when the cliffy got unstuck. I did use a heat gun to get the other half off and that did help. Ultimately the damage is entirely covered by the metal ring so it's not noticeable in any way.

After getting it off I used a razor blade and alcohol to remove the lifted artwork as well as all of the residue adhesive under the ring. I also cleaned up the playfield as best as I could using alcohol and some wipes.

Many thanks again to @Ant-H for sending me some precut rings. This made the rest of the operation very easy - just a couple peels and careful application to line it all up.

With that I think that's every little niggle sorted with this machine. I will enjoy it for a bit more (like to get better at party MB) then put it back up for sale on here for the next pinhead to look after :)

Could you please let me know where you got the 3M sheet from?
I bought is a whole ago but I’ll try and dig out the details of where I got it from.

I remember it was from a random place I found online as it took me a while to find someone in the UK who sells that particular grade of 3m as it’s the one Cliffy uses on his stuff.

If you could, that would great! The stuff I find online seems to be too thick at around 1mm. Looking for something like Cliffy uses.

Thanks!

Did you ever find out what this was?

Sorry mate, I couldn’t find the website I ordered it from. Then after I saw your post above, I remembered that I kept the packaging to store some acrylic sheets and luckily the invoice was still taped to it 😀

This is the stuff I’ve used. Took me a while to find a place in the UK that supplies the ultra thin stuff.
It’s the exact same spec Cliffy uses. It’s not cheap when you add the shipping unless you spend over £35, but will last you for ages due to the size of the sheet, so is worth it imo.
