TZ drain and bumper issue

Ok two queries guys. Had TZ for about a month now. Was behaving itself quite nicely but all of a sudden its now pausing to register a ball drain. Takes forever and from what I can see the ball is sitting against a metal flange that very slowly moves back to allow the machine to recognise the drain. So slow in fact that the machine starts running its ball lost check on all the moving parts.
Any ideas guys?
Also TZ bumpers, does anybody know the correct placement of colours? Apparently the original flyer incorrectly displayed them?
Cheers fellas :)

So the balls drain, enter trough and it takes a while for it to register ??

I'm not sure what you mean by the metal flange that slowly moves back ?? Do you mean the switch arm ?

Could either be a 'sticky' switch in the trough - the actuator wire could be catching - or could be the balls have become magnatised. Game like TZ that use magnets should have the more expensive carbon steel balls to help prevent this. I reckon prob a switch issue though.

I think the bumper cap colours are meant to match the skill shot 'zone' colours ...so whatever is the top colour, then the bumper cap position matches it, same for middle and lower. Cant remember without looking at mine.

Thanks GrizZ, exactly!, ball drains to trough and sits against switch arm fully extended. Switch arm retracts very slowly until the ball is in the right position to push against the switch in the middle of the trough.
No idea what's causing this? This has been working fine until about a week ago.
interestingly I did purchase a whole set of new balls from pinball heaven but phil assured me these were the right ones for TZ?
re bumpers...prob is every pic on google has various combinations of colour layout...a confirmed layout at some point GrizZ would be muchos appreciated...thanks

Thanks stan. Thing is this was my first port of call, am I missing something? I can't find any reference to the colour combo of the bumpers except for the picture which is the same setup as the original flyer...ie wrong?
sorry for the noobness :behindsofa:

Right - apparently the correct placement is as follows below. Ties in with the skill shot, red zone lights one bumper cap, the red one, orange lights red and orange, yellow lights all 3 :biggrin1: I knew it was something to do with the skill shot.

Upper left = Red
Upper right = Yellow
Lower = Amber/orange

Awesome! Thanks GrizZ ☮️
