Well I’m 56 and a massive Tron fan, watched the films dozens of times, own the soundtracks etc etc.

I’ve seen and heard a few reviews so far and it didn’t sound too positive.

Anyway, I went to watch it in IMAX this afternoon and I really enjoyed it.
I understand Jared Leto isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, and personally I didn’t think the Nine Inch Nails soundtrack was a patch on Wendy Carlos or Daft Punk’s efforts.

So, have any of you Pinheads watched it?
Would love to hear your opinions.

Love the Tron films, I’ve recently watched the original and legacy in preparation for ares being released. I haven’t watched the original for over 20 years, and I was blown away by how well it still holds up. Legacy followed on perfectly.
I was so looking forward to ares, and was intending to go imax this weekend. But the mixed reviews have put me off slightly, and tbh the trailers didn’t fill me with much hope ( not a fan of Leto), and the fact it’s in the real world, tron is all about the grid.
Maybe I’ll watch it in my local ( non imax) cinema, or wait for streaming, I’m undecided

Watched in a Dolby Cinema today which is the only way to watch big blockbusters

Soundtrack was perfect couldn't think of anyone better the NIN to do a grimmer electro beat

Visually epic every film gets closer to capturing the grid

Not a fan of Jeto but I thought he was good in the role

Storyline was good

Reviews mean naff all now these days, none of them have any real knowledge on films... And because they are a so called critic they always try to put films inside down

Go enjoy and if you come out entertained, job done!

Today went to see Tron Ares came out entertained and happy then went to see I Swear and came out moved and inspired... Films have different jobs

Watched it this afternoon on a Cineworld super screen, after hearing bad reviews I was surprised just how much I enjoyed. Audio and visuals are absolutely amazing. Of course the story is a loads of ********, but Tron has always been that way. I'll definitely be picking it up on 4k to push my home cinema system.

NEVER read reviews of films, they will ruin your enjoyment or if your opinion of it is that it is a terrible film then you haven't been swayed at all. Most modern films are absolute crap as the ability to write a solid story and have an absolute love or loathing of a character has pretty much disappeared. No imagination at all anymore, except for the odd one or two. All special effects and fantastic sounds these days that really detract from why I watch a film, give me a solid frickin story.

My 9 year old verdict

"Boring, I tried to go to sleep but it was too loud".

And took 4 toilet breaks

Oh dear 🥴

I'm not planning to inflict it on my (nearly) nine year old. He'd liked the look of the trailers.

We did enjoy the new Fantastic Four movie, though.

My daughter enjoyed the fantastic four she didn't Tron, I can understand why, it's concepts are abstract characters to computer processes. Lots of pointless visuals that she wouldn't get as there a nod to old technology and the original film I actually didn't mind it but can see why other don't. It's a very marmite film.

I enjoyed it. As with all Tron films, it's all about the eye candy and the soundtrack. And on those it delivers.

Jared Leto continues to be a black hole of charisma though.

I give the film two thumbs up as well 👍🏼👍🏼.
Yes I would have preferred more of it in the digital world, but it makes sense the direction they have chosen.
Nice to have some references to the original film 😁.

I really liked the soundtrack which went well with the film. Overall Legacy is a better film but this is still very enjoyable, especially at a cinema with rumble chairs.
I give it a solid 7 out of 10.

We just need Stern to make a Tron Ares pinball machine now.
