Don't ask don't get, I know this is a long shot..

But there's got to be one of these sitting at the back of a shed waiting to be restored.

I'll love it, care for it, feed it every day.

Let me know what you've got - happy to discuss without pics, if it is actually hidden in a shed :p

Would even consider a playfield, a bag of parts and a pat on the back.

I think there will be a HUUUUGE line of people waiting for a TOTAN project to pop up haha!

When one does, if it does, it'll be snapped up so quick most folk won't even know about it. A-list games like that are pretty much "blink and you miss it".

I wouldn’t class totan as an a list game I had one up for sale a while back fully restored with little interest I was offered a project one by a member on here not so long ago he might pipe up if he still wants to sell it
Totan and cv are marmite games hard to find if you want one
Hard to sell as unless someone wants one

I bet if they were priced cheaper they would be gone pretty quick!

I didn’t think £5500 was too bad for a fully restored one with colour display or £6000 inc a brand new playfield
I suspect you are not going to get a project one for much less than £3500

Yeah but it did need that new playfield fitted as the one on it had terrible insert reaction which would have put people off who didn’t fancy doing a playfield swop, but you are right that wasn’t a bad deal.
They just don’t come up so if you want one it’s probably going to cost you, project or not.
I dream of cheap machines again😭

I had already agreed to buy the project one I believe Chris is referring to, before this thread was started. Hopefully picking it up tomorrow :)

Nice one andy
The one that was at the show I sold over a year ago for around 5k I think

The TOTAN at the show was mine and I’ve owned it for about 15 years ( with a few years off where I sold it and bought it back ). So wasn’t yours Chris. I was approached by 5 different potential buyers over the weekend. Has now made it into the games room where it’ll probably remain until the next show.

That's the one Andy above has just bought from me, collecting tomorrow though, so already taken I'm afraid :)

All restorations and minters are hard to sell nowadays. Even players quality games, particularly this year, just sit forever. £5.5k to £6k is not bad at all for a mint TOTAN in my opinion, the problem is the market has changed over the last few years. The 90's DMD pins are becoming less desirable (unless they’re mega cheap/projects), as more people move towards newer Stern's and JJP's. If you've got £6k to spend there's plenty of better games to buy than a 90's pin.

Well it looks like Pinfest has awoken the Genie inside a lot of us and now we all want a TOTAN.

Guess we should all thank @pinballmania for his generosity of bringing down such a nice game.

I'm going to keep rubbing my lamp in hopes of a sub £3k project for this. I NEED those ballsave spikes in my life.

I agree 100% why buy a Totan at £6000 when you can get new game or very good used one for not much more has to be a nostalgic thing to spend that much on a bw game I am lucky I have several customers who want fully restored super minty machine s

Not nostalgic for me, I just prefer the better made, reasonable repair costs for parts, repairable boards and less complicated. All good having a tv screen and rgb LED’s when it’s working but 25 years down the line will these still be about? The problems I’ve been reading about with the newer machines have put me right off them.
I was working my b4lls off in the nineties never played them then☹
They were so good they are remaking them😁

I might be in the minority but I would rather spend £6000 on a "fully restored super minty" Bally/ Williams than put the money towards a new/ newish Stern or JJP. Nostalgia is very difficult to replicate and personally I value nostalgia very highly.

Maybe in a minority here, but I wanted a TOTAN and got a nice one last year. Beautiful to look at. Played it for a weekend and saw everything there was to see. For me, selling it and getting a more modern machine with deeper code that will actually get played rather than serve as a beautiful yet unplayed ornament has become the priority. The only beautiful 90s machine I had but miss is CV. That's because with the home rom CV is very deep on the wizard modes. If TOTAN had a home rom things would be different.
