To grease or not?

Just in the middle of the battle field strip down. I know it's a no go in most cases but so I need to grease the pinion and shafts? Just cleaned off filthy black grease.

Yes and should be cleaned on a fairly regular basis (I'd guess every couple of years would be sufficient for home use).
