Bought a TMNT Pro recently.

Didn't hang around getting this modded.

First I cleaned the machine...

Playfield cleaned...

PXL_20211008_192740591.jpg

Installed some yellow silicone rubbers I had lying around. Will eventually change to green.

Small tip to any NIB owners. Please remove the plastic on the T-Mold or the glue melts and people like me have to spend 20 minutes peeling it off ><

PXL_20211008_204428091.jpg

Installed new Pinmonk fan. I can't stand the stock fan noise..

Pinball Monk before and after video.

Next up. I ordered and added various mods from @Colywobbles

Also grabbed the Van mod. Cheap and effective way of making the Van more appealing since it does nothing in the PRO.

IMG-20211012-WA0008.jpg

Once that was done I got to work adding a Mezel Mod RGB RAMP. The wiring was shocking. They hadn't properly cut and crimped the wiring so I had to re-cut and crimp it...

Honestly for the money I would expect better!

IMG-20211013-WA0002.jpg

The Male to Fe-male connector also wasn't the right fit so I had to 'mod' the 'mod'....

At least it looks good (for those that don't have a TMNT the lighting in the ramps isn't stock. See video of the finished result.

Mezel Mod RGB Ramp Mod:

Stuff left to do:

- Glider mod (on order)
- Side Art blades (on order)
- Krang Mod (on wait list)

Still deciding on the powder coat. Obvious is green but.... ?

Mezel Mods stuff is often shockingly shoddy, as you and countless others have discovered. I wouldn't touch their stuff with a bargepole now.
Agree, always check their mods before installing. A classic is 5v rated LEDs for a 12v mod or vice versa

Very nice! The side art blades make a big difference on TMNT I think, the rest is so colourful the black looks out of place. I’ve ordered some for my JP2 after seeing them on turtles but I’m not sure they will make as much difference in that. I was lucky that my TMNT came with a whole bunch of nice mods from previous owner!

Question for you. If you shoot up the left orbit from the right flipper does it sometimes bouce against the ball guards mid way up and go back down?

Was speaking to people on Pinside but they keep going on about an up post. Its definately not a post i'm hitting here its near the exit area by the Van. Seems like a design flaw...

I haven't noticed that. There is an up post up there that sets you up for the upper flipper when you shoot the orbit but as you say that's not what's causing it something is maybe out of line? Take a pic of where you think its hitting and I'll go have a look at mine for differences

Hi Jib,

So its getting caught here. Seems to hit the metal guards, maybe the ramp isn't aligned? Odd it wasn't raised with the previous owner but I definitely have issues with mine.

I've never had that happen on mine either, what have you got your right flipper power set to? By default from the factory all of the flippers, shooter lane kick out and slings are set to crazy high power. I found reducing these by various degrees has made the game shoot nicer (drop the trough kickout to it's lowest power if you haven't already to prevent damage to the shooter lane).

Good idea maybe thats it. I had noticed its throwing balls around like it hates them.

What do you have it set to?

hmm mine does look pretty much the same, just not as clean! Only thing that looks like maybe a couple of millimetres difference is the end of the guide by Bebop's mohawk maybe? Mine seems a teeny tiny bit more over to the left which might be stopping it hitting the bit above. My flippers, slings etc are set at factory.

Actually both my guides look like they're over to the left very slightly compared to yours. If I look at where they enter the playfield, yours look like they are centred to the black rings and mine are to the left. It's very tiny, dont know if thats enough to make a difference or not

Haha you have no idea how much cleaning I had to do to this machine. I went through two of those Novus rags!

I feel like it needs a playfield strip so I can get to the harder to reach area's.

Reducing the power on the flippers has DEFINITELY helped not only with making the game easier but also allowing me to actually make consistant loop shots I did 3 in a row and thought my god this is like Star Trek its actually a flow monster!

Yeah the loop is awesome, when you hit it multiple times and then get the ramp for the krang combo, so satisfying! I’m actually really enjoying it. When I first got it I loved it, then I thought it was too hard for me but now I’m back to loving it again after switching to 5 balls! You have shamed me into cleaning it again though 😂 Just got some new coil stops to fit too

@s000m these are my current settings but I do mess about with them a bit and it will depend on how steep you've got your game setup:

Slingshots - 25
Left Flipper - 215
Right Flipper - 225
Upper Flipper - 195
Trough Eject - 150
Auto Shooter - 170

Lots of work done today.

Left Flipper Mech unfortunately has a sheered scew (not my doing) I tried my best to remove it. No luck. I took off the entire mech just to get at it.

PXL_20211010_145534684.jpg

PXL_20211014_123341337.jpg

I literally got a drill on it but lack the bits and other tools (such as clamp!) to do it safely and/or quickly. I gave up in the end and ordered a new left flipper mech base...

It holds for now with the one screw but I feel its a ticking time bomb left unchecked...

Right flipper mech also had some screws missing around the mounting plate (£18 .. whelp..) I had ordered a 'pinball screw set' to sort out those missing. £20 for screws... Everything in PInball I swear is jacked up on cost. Its like when people say 'wedding' and they whack on 50% for whatever it is you need!

That's another £20 I wasn't planning on spending ><

Took the ramps off today as some of the posts are under them. Fitted new rubbers, my God that was more hassle than I thought. While I was at it. I got to the area I couldn't reach before and cleaned up as much as I could the giant black ball trail in the top right on the playfield.

Adding new green posts rubbers on...

Short video tour of all the rubbers fitted. Playfield extra cleaned. Its about as good as it gets for me.

I think the green came out well in the end.

I've also purchase the side armor protectors from the states... Bloody expensive (£300) I must have something wrong with me.

Side Art blades added today. I hate fitting these bloody things!

Ok, you're making me feel like I should do the few little jobs I need to do on my turtles. I've got goo gone wipes for the goo on the t-moulding I'll let you know if they're any good and could save you 20 mins next time! Need to clean that off, replace coil stops and sleeves, sling rubbers (already done the flippers), take the pizza disc off and oil it, replace the carriage bolt and screw for the backbox and give it all another clean, think that's it for now!

Oh, let me know if any lubrication sorts out the pizza disc. It can get loud!

I didn't think it had made a difference at first but then I put the glass back on 😂 You can still hear it but it is much quieter and it sounds better, just the sound of it spinning smoothly. I'm liking doing all these little things, learning more and getting more confident. Luckily I haven't had to do anything major yet, that might scare me. The goo gone wipes were good too, not sure if they were worth the money over a bottle of sticky stuff remover dabbed on kitchen roll but they worked well. I'm sure you don't need much encouraging but attaching a pic so you can pick your next mod, I really like the playfield light filters!

Nice mate, I've honestly never seen them before. A definite improvement.

PXL_20211020_184441779.jpg

Switched the flipper base over the weekend. Nice to ensure everything is now securely fitted!

Spent a fortune, then sold at a loss. Haha never mind I enjoyed pimping this thing out and ended up gaining a dream theme in the process.
