HEllo,

I am looking to sell my TOM. It is in great condition fully working justa few bits need repairing/ replacing. The trunk is chipped on the bottom from the ball hitting it and alo the plastic on the entrance has partially snapped off, also the ledt hand flipper has recently started sticking slightly. After looking on this forum at the variou advice on pricing im an asking for £2500 but will take offers. I am located in Hull East yorkshire.

I was bought the machine as a teenager as a gift and it has hardly been played with over the last 10 years due to living away. My parents want it out of their house and i do not have the space for it which is the reason for the sale.

Welcome.

We've already met via email & my offer still stands.

Best of luck with the sale at that price. Hope you get it shifted soon!

Paul (just down the road).

Wow are they red flipper rubbers? can't quite tell.
blimey yes, it definitely needs a clean and rerubber. to this untrained eye though, that playfield looks to be in great condition and so the asking price of '2500 will take offers' seems decent. this won't be around for long, i'd have snapped it up myself instead of writing some gubbins post if i had the space/money/etc.

I would say it's worth about £1800 tops looking at the pics, but that is just MHO, cleaning that trap door flap would probably add about £100 to the value :)

Good cleanup and rerubber , new trunk and that will be good to go. Seen way, way worse. Good luck with the sale.

I agree. :D

I blame modern digital photos as they always seem to make every blemish standout a mile...

"that playfield looks to be in great condition" I think we're looking at different machines !
i'm glad i wasn't the only one. when i look at pf pics i ignore dirt and cracked rubber. i look at the holes/scoops and the inserts, looking for wear and rise/fall respectively. as i said, i'm no expert, but neither am i a n00b, and the only scoop shown looks great, as do the inserts which are all perfectly in place with maybe 1mm of movement. i dunno what you're looking at that is no good, but stuff like dirt and blown bulbs and perished rubber can all be fixed for almost no cash, whereas playfield holes and insert movement are both a major PITA

the only reason i come back and repost is to ask others to tell me where their eye focuses when looking at a machine for 'condition'. i should mention that i never give a rat's **** about the cabinet personally, but i know this is important to some. apologies to anyone who bought off me, i always ignore the cab dints!

This is a high mileage TOM with plenty of insert wear from what I can see, a machine with that amount of pf wear will no doubt be tired all over (basically all components are exposed to the same mileage) yup a good clean and new rubbers will make it better but it will always be a high mileage TOM unless you do a lot of work to get it peachy and that would mean a complete pf strip and sending the pf to Henrik @ Pinball Dreams for starters as you can't buy a repro, basically to get this machine really nice would cost more than spending 3k on one that is already a minter which makes £1800 top dollar for what it is unless you just want a machine that will always look worn and again £1800 is still strong money but as with all these things, it's worth what the keenest person is willing to pay.

Hi all I dont know a great deal about pinball machines this was just a loved gift as a teenager. As far as the high milage comment goes i would disagree with that it was bought newly restored and apart from being played occasionaly when it was first bought it has probably had less than 5 hours play in the last 12 years. Admittedly i have never changed any components on it because firstly i have never needed to as it has never not worked and secondly i never knew how. It may be as with many mechanical components that the lack of use can be detremental but im not sure???
As far as prices are going ive just put it up for what people have advised on various forums and looking at previously sold machines. I am open to offers and if anyone is in the area ( we are now the city of cultuere, so not all bad) they are welcome to come and have a look for themselves :)

Been asked for some diffefent pictures so here we are.

Good luck with the sale but you will need to be flexible on the price with the overall condition.
£1800 to £2000 would be my guess as there is a lot that needs to be done to make it a £2500 machine.

and that would mean a complete pf strip and sending the pf to Henrik @ Pinball Dreams for starters as you can't buy a repro,

Sorry Dreads ....but that sounds totally excessive unless you are one of the minority of collectors that have to have a *mint* machine. I picked up a TOM years ago that looked not far off this, ....rerubbered, stripped and cleaned ......looked bloody lovely. Not every game *has*to be restored to *NEW*, and not everybody wants or cares for that.

'Players' machines all day long for me.

So whats your price on a "Players Machine" GrizZ ?

Fair point but I think you have missed my point, if you quoted the whole sentence it would make more sense "yup a good clean and new rubbers will make it better but it will always be a high mileage TOM unless you do a lot of work to get it peachy and that would mean a complete pf strip and sending the pf to Henrik @ Pinball Dreams for starters" we are talking market value and on the back of that value what it would cost to make this machine peachy, don't think it is excessive just the maths.

I don't like pf wear but maybe that is just me.

Nice swerve reply on market value ;), no one is trying to knock the price down for anyone to swoop in and grab a bargain for less than what it is actually worth, we are all straight here are we not? this is a forum where the ones that know a little more pass on a little knowledge to the ones that are new to the hobby, I can't pretend to anyone that this TOM is worth 2.5k as it stands and would not dream of implying that it is, anyone new to the hobby who has just tuned into this forum has the right to know what someone in the know would expect to pay for any machine.....this one included, I am off to float my liver, same time tomorrow night :)

Same here, Playfield has to be as good as if not dare I say "minty"

Gents,

This is someone's "for sale" thread - Whilst I have no problems with people making observations on condition etc Vs price on this particular item, please could we refrain on the general discussion on prices - There's a separate Thread with regards to price discussions ;) Cheers :D
