Finally some progress !!

This is still using a nano - but I suspect the ESP would work OK too now that I know what was amiss.
I think the panels light up that way as soon as you power them up so not sure if I can do much about that - I can come back to it though.
Next job is to hook up the gubbins to actually trigger the FX

Minor update. Wasnt happy with the prototype - and less happy with those dupont things.
Redid the board - less wiring and dupont pish on the board gone. (Theres still one on the LED matrix but can live with that for now)
Will hopefully try installing one of the opto couplers at the weekend...
