Clares been rammed in the rear twice in the last 3 months (lucky girl eh😂😂)

Now she wants a cheap dashcam?

what do you recommend please. i’ve no idea

don’t want to spend a fortune.

Wow - these are all expensive, I thought like £50 max would do the trick. Maybe I forgot about that thing called inflation!

I know people who have had their side windows smashed and the dash cams nicked in the past

I did a fair bit of research last year and ended up with this one:

No complaints so far but you do have to buy an SD card separately

I've been very happy with my Nextbase cam. Has gone strong for a few years. I think mine is 1080p/30fps - having trialled it and checking the footage on laptop, its really good. You would never have an issue identifying another car and unless conditions are **** you will be able to read the full number plate. £160 option.

I do front only. I figure if I get rear ended, it's likely not a problem with proving fault anyway. Or if it is, I have footage of me driving normally and then being shunted forward.
I definitely recommend getting a fused adapter and having it come on/off with the car's ignition.

Avoid Garmin! My wife's started corrupting SD cards and eventually got a hard fault that meant it wouldn't even power on...

I dont think its inflation so much you can probably get basic ones but the video will be crap and it wont have a rear facing camera.

Aldi and Lidl sometimes have them on the middle isle offers from time to time.

Actually thinking about it I suprised its not common for people to just use an app on their phone and have some form of dash mount to stick the phone in to record forwards and backwards.

Are the app based ones any good?
Is there an issue using say Waze (sat nav), amazon music etc at the same time as recording from cameras?
Pal of mine went OTT with cameras on his van, mounted 6 caneras and ran it thru a DVR! Someone broke into his van and cut the cable ties around the DVR and stole it.
