Hi all,

I just picked up a Getaway and I'm having an issue where I'm getting a lot of trapped balls under the up/down ramp (that goes to the ball lock when down).

If you shoot for the right orbit and the ramp is down then the ball gets stuck.

Should there be something that gets in the way to repel the ball or a gate to block it?

I've not had a look yet as I'll need to take the supercharger off to get to it, just wondering any anyone had seen this or has images of the underside of the up/down ramp.

Thanks

Dave

Hi Dave,

Yep, I've seen it before. Look under the playfield and I think you'll find the ramp lifting mechanism badly worn or a screw holding it in place has fallen off or it's bent or some other reason.

Good Luck!

OK, will have to wait a few days till I have time, it needs some cleaning under there anyway.

Can someone tell me if this is the wrong wire form? It seems to form a natural ball trap when the up/down ramp is down. (note: image should be rotated 90 degrees counter-clockwise and ramp is removed)

Your problem will be with the switches on the right loop. If the ramp is down then as soon as these switches are activated the ramp should lift to allow the ball to pass.

The wireform looks ok. If you have sufficient playfield slope , and a ball that has not become magnetised, then the ball should roll off the apex.

Thanks, I eventually figured that out ... I had previously tested the switches as working with my finger but I then went back and tried rolling a ball over them and the top one wasn't quite making.

Now it's adjusted it should work fine but I've taken the opportunity to fix a few other bits and bobs while the ramp and supercharger is off. Should be up and running this afternoon.

Now that the game is put back together is plays perfectly, just need to rebuild the flippers and it's good to go :-)
