The 2024 Festive Pinball Gathering 29 Nov - 01 Dec 24

Not to speak for Peter but it's pretty relaxed at swl, practice is usually allowed there and has been at any comps I've been to there in the last few years.

Not that you'll find the time...! 🤣

For the classics, please practice on the modern and for the modern, please practice on the classics.

As Kev says, wee are fairly relaxed about it. I'd be more worried about the smell police doing their rounds...!

Have you lost your Santander debit/credit card?

Slightly random, but appreciating a fair number of attended will be booked into the Spoons Kings Head, so might get a lucky result.

We just found a dropped Santander Bank card on the stairs up to the 1st floor this morning.
No name on it, but handed into the hotel reception if it is yours!

Thank you @Moonraker for putting on such a great event with Hilary and Moira as well. It was a really relaxed and welcoming environment with great hospitality -James and I thoroughly enjoyed our first SWL visit... well done Josh who was outstanding all day, as well as Greg in 2nd and Nate 3rd.

Also shout outs for CJ in 9th, just one off the playoffs, and @DeadPin Dean in 14th who put in another strong effort for only his 3rd(?) tournament.

Nice to play and meet some different players from another region - hopefully I will see a few of you next weekend at Monster meet at PBR! :)

Firstly thank you @Jackpot for your kind words. Yes you are correct it was only my 3rd tournament and I really enjoyed it. Finished way better than I expected which is always a bonus. Gained a lot of experience from the tournament and met a lot of new people.

Thank you to @Moonraker for putting on a great day of pinball, and the amazing score you put up on Star Trek. I enjoyed my first trip to SWL.

I need to plan a trip to PBR next ha ha.

Thanks as ever to Peter and Hilary for hosting another Festive Gathering. Very enjoyable as always. Also great to see such a good turnout including some first timers from the People's Republic.

Huge congrats to Josh who dominated yesterday and the weekend with one win and two seconds and to Peter for winning the Pingolf.

I was really pleased to grab second yesterday having to come through a semi with Josh, Craig and Rich! Also thought going into the last game 3rd would be best I could realistically achieve but thanks to a win on the last game of AFM and Josh and Yuen doing me a favour by beating Nathan, was able to sneak into second overall although Josh had me worried chasing down my score which would have led ot a playoff with Narthan for second if he'd overtaken me.

All great fun!

Thanks again
Greg

Come on Saturday for Monster Meet! It has to be more fun than whatever else you had planned ;)

Great weekend, thanks as always to Peter, Hilary and Moira for hosting us all - it was great to see so many at the club

I was pleased to get to the final on Friday, and with Josh taking second and Rhian best lady we had a car full of trophies to take home to start the weekend.

I failed to add to mine, having clearly peaked too early, as I played pretty badly for the rest of the weekend.

Josh took another second on Saturday and while most would have been happy with two trophies in two days, you can see how thrilled he was in the photo - it wasn't the most fun car journey home!

Rich put up some great games to take a deserved win - though Conrad made him sweat in the semi-final with a great chase on Genesis on the final ball.

Rhian once again had some great games on Sunday to take a second trophy:

Thankfully, things came together on Sunday with Josh winning every single game from after lunch and through the semi-final.

In the final, he got the not-uncommon 'slam tilt' on Star Wars whilst in MB chasing Nathan, leading to a comp ball and doing the 'Star Wars dance' on the flippers and button to move his multipliers around to maximise the points return.

With two wins in the first two games, a second in the third game on AFM was enough to give him the win and complete a clean sweep for the locals with Peter, Rich and Josh taking the three winner's trophies.
