Wanted tftc

Price is alittle on the high side. Probably better condition than what I'd prefer. Would rather deal with someone off the forum too. Not had a great experience with ebay recently

id wait for that one. seems to be way over priced when they come up on eBay. usually more than Tommy for instance

Nice ones don't tend to come around that often. A lot of what I saw had very bad insert wear.

However, as you aren't too fussed on condition you should find one without having to wait too long. Price is going up for this pin though generally I feel.

As Phil will profess back in the day you couldn't give this game away as theme meant nothing to UK Ops

Tales from the crypt. Any condition

i have one that's in bits that i'm slowly putting back together, should know in a week or two how good/bad it is. the worst part is that the cabinet/backbox have had some damp in the past, and there appears to be a ramp switch missing over the right ramp, and it has the usual playfield wear, but otherwise no headline nasties. the boards should all work (i'm waiting for the PSU back from Luke Wells as he just repaired it) and all seems to be intact as far as transformer / earthing etc, all the plastics are present but a few are cracked, i haven't checked the condition of the DMD yet. ... but nothing irreparable.

i kept quiet up to now as it's not ready - i had planned on listing it at 99p on ebay no reserve to see where it ended - and work has been busy so i hadn't the time to get it finished. but if you are still looking in a couple of weeks then keep this one in mind.

Logic dictates that data east should value wise go from guns n runs at the top with star wars next then Tommy but unlike star wars ( which I believe sold 800 plus in the UK) you don't see Tommy come up very often. If we take that any tidy dot matrix game should nudge a grand then surely Tommy in good condition plus should be £1500 plus

There was a guy in Louth flogging a TFTC a year or so back. Me and a mate of mine went to view it but we didn't end up going for it in the end because he was simply asking too much for what appeared to be a non-runner.

I'm not sure who snagged it in the end but i'd love to find out where that disappeared to.

Good luck in your quest to find one though.

I might have a lead. Depending on how far you are prepared to travel and how much you want to spend. Found one up for sale at 2000 euros in Belgium!

That's okay Dom. I'm not that eager for one. The cost of the machine alone is high and it's not like i can view it first. Going to hang on :)

I checked back in my Gmail account and found a posting on the Yahoo group. That one in Louth ended up being picked up by @strobey I think.

If hes' about i'd love to hear if he made any progress with it :-)

Hi yes im lurking... :)

Still got it.. CPU board has acid damage and the PSU board needs some unhacking, but apart from that she's all good. Oh coin door is missing too.

Nothing too scary..

Currently sharing the boardset with my JP until I either stump up for a repro or repair the mess.

I'm afraid it's taken a bit of a backseat because of this, but it'd be nice to get it back up and running over Christmas. Super fun game.

Playfield and cab are beautiful...

Cheers,

Tim

There was a proto I believe that had some additional bits in the backbox for illuminating the topper. Might be worth checking yours.

Glad to hear no major issues. Would have been tempted myself but the fact we couldn't even power it on made me nervous. God knows why someone had cut the power cord off it.

Anyway, apologies to Daz for hijacking his thread and good luck in his quest for one. :-)

Ahh well it had the power cord attached when i visited. It still looked dead (just GI was lit) but i heard a very distinctive 'cackle' when pressing the start button and that was good enough for me.

It was on ebay for weeks at 995 but we came to a more sensible figure... 650 iirc.. but it was a risk and does need some money throwing at it.

Good luck with your search and thanks for the thread share! :-)

@Wiredworm, I'll have a look for the green inserts, cheers... :thumb:
