Hi guys I'm hoping one of you experts can help. I'm refurbing my T2 which is coming along nicely. It's not my first pinball that I will of shopped but it will be the first time I've attempted to work on the PF itself. As you can see there's some wear to the PF in front of the flippers and is quite bad. It was hidden by a very poor touch up using a brush and some mylar.

As I've not attempted this before can anyone give me some advise, I'm thinking of purchasing an airbrush to touch up so firstly can anyone recommend a good gun. Secondly assuming the touch up goes well can anyone talk me through how to protect it afterwards, can I clear coat a small area or does the whole PF need clear coating. If I can't do a spot clear coat do I just protect with a piece of mylar?

The help and advise will be much appreciated

It looks like one of the more straightforward repairs as it's mostly one solid colour. Having said that I've never attempted this!
There's an excellent thread on pinside by a guy called vid1900 where he goes into huge detail on how it's done. The tricky but seems to be matching colours which seems to be an art. Maybe @RudeDogg1 can chime in as I have seen some amazing work he's done. Not playfield related but certainly airbrush stuff.

Hi all thanks for the comments.

I've read Vid's guide and got a lot from it however the suggested airbrush is from the US so was hoping someone may be able to point me towards a good but not ridiculously priced airbrush available here in Blighty!! There's not much on clear coating a small area, I've read an awful lot about clear coating the entire PF but wanted to try to keep the clear coating to a minimum just around the area only if possible. I'm just not sure if it is. The rest of the playfield I think will come up really nice :)

Thanks all for any advise you can give

If your not planning on using the airbrush alot you will probably be ok with the cheap China iwata knock offs on ebay or here http://www.airbrushsupplyonline.com for under £30 the one that's called something like she is probably one of the better ones. I tried one they r ok just not good enough for what I do I've just invested in a stupidly expensive iwata hi-line hb ch

Personally I'd clear the whole pf

Here's the knock off one http://www.airbrushsupplyonline.com...0-gravity-high-precision-dual-action-airbrush

Thanks RudeDogg1 for the info on the spraygun it's much appreciated. Fingers crossed on the touch up.
