ladies / gents can anyone tell me how you punch down the cables into the board plugs - is there a punch tool or is it a case of the old terminal screwdriver ?
You can use either.... However the Punch tool is more reliable 
Better - Just replace it with Crimps as it'll be more reliable after 20-30 years

arh its a molex tool isnt it ?
The molex tool is for crimps, this one does the two common sizes found in pinball

no i cant see how they are going to push down those strip connectors ? what is the black thing in your hand ? thats looks more like the punch down ?
What everyone is saying is, you can use the black punchdown tool to put a cable into the existing blocks or take all of the wires out of those blocks and replace the block with crimped molex connectors which are much better and still go onto the same pins on the board.

thanks all - ill use the old terminal screwdriver trick - just wondered what everyone else used
I used the terminal screwdriver trick for ages but the wee plastic tool is pretty damn good, even if it looks like it isnt...

I wasn’t being tight but pinball mania are out of stock of the £11 tool - I’ve a couple of wires that have popped out during the move ! Once again thank you to all .
