Just needed to vent.

This morning I went through my daily ritual of turning off every bloody light switch that my wife and daughter had left on in their wake as they passed through the house. (I say daily but in reality I have to do it 4-5 times a day)

I dared to suggest to my daughter that the mirror we had installed in her shower room actually does have an off switch and maybe she would like to try it out

Her reply. “But it’s LEDs, they save electricity”

Good God Almighty. She genuinely believed leaving it on was reducing my electric bill 😱

This is a girl who has passed her science GCSEs. We’re one year away from her vote counting as much as mine 😭

😂
My 4 kids have virtually left, one sought of still here as has a flat nearby as working as a student GP this year as part of his medical degree course and 7 years in.

He will turn the hall light on going up to his room even though it’s daylight hours and also his bedroom lights, then ‘forget’ to turn them off. I always have a go at him and it never changes, he also says why do I leave my lights on for no reason around my pinroom in the garage😃

Is what it is and it’s an ongoing joke here, past the arguing stage now. I do laugh though when he can’t find his car keys or phone as he always forgets where he left them too.

There’s barely a week that goes buy without a freak out to the location of her missing AirPods. Nine times out of ten the location turns out to be in her bed.

You're not alone.....!!!

Every. Blooming. Day.

I still remember this from the other way round. My stepdad would live in the dark if he had his way. He would turn the lights off even when I was in my room. He would just assume I was out and a hand would appear round the door and turn the light off 😡. Now when he is round ours baby sitting for Ethan he goes round the house turning every individual light off. Even though they are controlled by master switch's. First thing I have to do when I get home is go round turning them all back on. The light battle still raging over 30 years later 🤣 It never ends
