System 3 board compatibility

So, im still having problems fixing my sound on my Operation thunder pin, I have a guy that i need to get back to hopefully diagnose the problem and fix it but i have been offered new boards to about the same price as repair. The only problem is that the Aux board offered isnt the same type as mine. I have been offered the MA-1770 board and mine is the MA-1712 board. It seems that mine was only used in Operation thunder and surf n safari, then they moved to the other board, this seems to be because of additional components needed because of the move to DMD. Other than that, they look identical.

What i need to know is, would the 1770 board work in one that requires the 1712 board? i appreciate that the other way round, it wouldnt work.

Hopefully some Gott fan can shed some light on this.

PBResource has the board for about £45 http://pbresource.com/boards.html#gtbsys3

tho they do not accept ccards or paypal so you would have to get a relative to buy or send cash

Never mind ehh, i actually bought one in the end because i needed to make a decission and was buying the main sound board so wasnt paying anymore postage, for the price i paid, i will be able to sell it and buy one from pbr without losing anything so nothing lost i guess.
