So who’s going?
I’ve not been for over 5 years but really looking forward to it this year, its final outing. Organised by Mark Squires, it’s been going about 20 years (I think) and is always all about the social rather than competition. Nobody really cares if you are good or crap, there’s only about 10-15 machines so nobody comes to show off or to grandstand or to try and make a splash: at my first Swavesey I was shown how to take apart and reassemble a flipper mech, without any ridicule or being made to feel bad; then hours later I was given a lift home to my hotel room by a complete stranger to me 8 hours previous.
You’d be as welcome bringing an old EM as you would be bringing brand new Stern. The only rule is to be a decent person and not be a cun_t. Talk crap about buying and selling, modding and refurbing, stripping for parts, remakes of old bits, true or made-up gossip, footy, ice dancing, whatever TF you want. Come sit and have a chat, the pinball is entirely secondary at Swavesey.
Easy enough for most.
