Subwoofer on STTNG not working

Hi guys,

My STTNG's subwoofer just decided to stop working whilst working on it.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to troubleshoot. The wires are connected to the woofer.

Check there's not a wire off on the main speakers, on some machines the cabinet speaker is wired in series with the main speakers.

Edit..I believe you lose all sound then though....still worth a check.

Test the speaker by putting a 9v battery across the terminals - you should hear a pop
Or if you have a multimeter then set it to OHMS - it should read between 4 and 10 ohms

Disconnect it from the sound board before you do either check!

If it is reading open circuit or does not pop - you have a knackered speaker.
