STTNG Cannons - Best Way to sort out unnecessary power on sweeps and other issues

Just fixed another set of STTNG cannons last night by changing all the optos and replacing the looms with the excellent upgraded replacements from pinball heaven. Done this a few times now and the cannons are perfect every time after. Never sweep unnecessarily at power on either now, which is a sign of problems.

Save yourself loads of head scratching and ****ing about down the line and do a full shot replacement both sides. You'll never look back

Agreed, it's amazing how many problems the looms cause and it's a simple swap too.

Yes it is a fault. The cannon does not need to move on power up if home and no ball in the cannon. The software checks and makes a decision based on various timings on boot up . The crappy worn looms and old optos reek havoc with the softwares limited logic. If they sweep, my advice is its time to do a shot replacement both sides as the problems will only get worse
