Hello everyone.

The short story...... Mrs Gonzo told me to get the pin out of the house.

I removed the backbox to make it lighter.

Unsurprisingly it doesn't work now.

Any help appreciated particularly in non technical jargon (I know what wire is and a ribbon cable but that's about it 😬).

What's going on with the top end of that long ribbon cable that goes to the display? that doesn't look normal as far as I can see from the video

I’ll do you some Roadshow backbox pics shortly... similar set-up.

that loose wire was your old DMD power cable, so you’re right it’s not used.

Looks ok just compared to mine but is j115 in properly on the big board, it’s covered can’t see it.
Maybe wiggle the ribbon cables as it been moved, must be a bad connection somewhere.
Ignore the bottom right cables, different to yours as I have an Afterglow board and the pin sound board.

Nice vid gives us all something to do I think the first connector you touched is for the dmd high voltage and you have a colour dmd in it so don’t plug that in to anything looks like you may have no 12v

Roadshow:

CPU board bottom LED is lit solid. Middle is flashing rapidly. Top is off.

Power board all voltage LEDs lit (when I close door)

Ok so the 12v led is not lit on the upper left on the driver board check you have a green and white wire connected to j112 on the driver board

I would remove every connector again, and start very slowly and carefully. Plug in each connector one at a time, triple checking location and connection, tidy cables as you go making it as neat as possible.
If you do this - may take an hour or so, but no reason for it not working. As you do it inspect each connector for wires that may have come out and a quick check of each socket for bent pins.
Slowly and methodically mate, also did you unplug or snag and of the connectors under the playfield? Has you power supply to your extra power board rattled about and come unplugged?

The no 12v would not stop it booting it is trying to boot up but fails I would again check all the ribbons or disconnect them all from the cpu and see if it will boot film it on power on the leds on the cpu and post it on here

Def disconnect and reconnect all ribbon cables mate, feed back on what happens.

As Chris said no 12v, led 7 on power board should always be on. Check f116 fuse.

You could try this to rule out other things:

“Eliminate other boards by removing J116; J117; J118. This step makes
sure that nothing is connected to the 12V line. If the LED goes on,
then the problem may not be on the power-driver board.”

I think we could have this working by the end of the day
Let’s forget about the 12v for the min
Disconnect all the ribbons from the cpu power it up and film the 3 leds on the cpu my guess is a ribbon a row or pin out or the wrong way round

Good start with the led blinking like that the cpu has booted correctly
Start with the small ribbon to the driver board re fit that and power up again and film

Getting there ok start plugin in one at a time the rest of the ribbon leads next the fliptronics board big ribbon above cpu but make sure the daisy chain connectors are disconnected repeat this and move on to the next connector power off every time and back on till you find when it won’t boot anymore forget the long ribbon on the left of the cpu for the minute

Sorry Chris, what are daisy chain connectors pls mate? (I know what the fliptronic board is)

Sorry didn’t explain that very well disconnect the ribbon to the sound board ie the next in line from the fliptronics board basically we don’t want to connect up all the boards in one go

Sending 2 videos next . . . . something interesting has happened which may help your diagnosis?
